Iran's surprising decision to move warships off the Atlantic coast poses a potential catastrophic threat to America from a nuclear or electromagnetic pulse attack, according to an expert who foresaw Iran's move.

Peter Pry, an expert on EMP attacks, said the ships are likely a dry run for a future attack, a maneuver meant to lull Washington into complacency while also embarrassing President Obama and his effort to convince Tehran to give up production of a nuclear bomb in return for a lifting of some economic sanctions.

“Yes, patrols by the Iranian Navy off our coasts could pose threat of a surprise EMP attack,” said Pry, who with others such as former CIA Director R. James Woolsey, has convinced several state legislatures to take moves to harden their electric and energy grids from EMP attack because Washington won't.

It was interesting until they said they would use the Klub-k to launch the strike. The Klub series are cruise missiles with a supersonic terminal attack.

EMP attacks need to be at very high altitude, so ballistic missiles would be necessary.

I’ve been thinking the exact same thing except: Why a dry run and not a surprise attack to disable us preemptively so they are free to attack Isreal without the USA distraction?
Who among our “experts” knows how soon Iran will have a nuke or if they already have one? Our defenders are playing a dangerous game and we have no idea what Iran is really capable of.

The energy in an electromagnetic wave goes down with the square of the distance. That’s just a fact...

So a 1 kiloton blast in the middle of the country, even if it were all released as EMF( which at best 15% is) , would be felt as only .000001 kiloton a thousand miles away.

I asked you to review the commissions report and show where in your expert opinion their conclusions are wrong and where they erred and why in your learned opinion they are wrong? I would especially I like to hear your knowledgeable take on their conclusion in regards to the Starfish Nuclear Detonation and again why they are wrong.

I ask you to review the report since we are talking about EMP from a nuclear denotation and not lightening I like to compare apples to apples and learn from you on studies, observations and research on the effects of detonatonations. I am curious how many nuclear detonations have you observed and of what types and yields?
