Obama: US must rethink water as climate changes

Warning that weather-related disasters will only get worse, President Barack Obama said Friday the U.S. must rethink the way it uses water as he announced new federal aid to help drought-stricken California.

Obama drew a clear connection between California’s troubles and climate change as he toured part of a farm that will go unsown this year as the state faces its worst drought in more than 100 years. Even if the U.S. takes action now to curb pollution, the planet will keep getting warmer “for a long time to come” thanks to greenhouse gases that have already built up, Obama said.

“We’re going to have to stop looking at these disasters as something to wait for. We’re going to have to start looking at these disasters as something to prepare for,” Obama said. …

And this after years of the EPA making water decisions that go against human use in pretty much every case that comes before them. The only reason most of central and southern California was *ever* green was because of irrigation and aqueducts. The greenies turn of the spigots wherever they find them, and then wonder why the whole southern half of CA is turning back into desert.

Perhaps he will declare “the moral equivalent of war” on too little water.

Pseudo-science and AGENDA will trump true science
if the lie is repeated enough, the people will beleive it !
This is an example of the "CULT of Personality " vs. true science
and defies all logic or emperical evidence.

This is an example of IMPERIAL SCIENCE vs. EMPIRACAL SCIENCE.

If you had gone into central California in 1850 and said that twenty-odd million people would be living there by 2000....you would have been laughed out of the saloon. Without the irrigation....there’s no agricultural build-up in the late 1800s and a surge throughout the mid 1900s. Without the aqueducts...they never would have gone past two or three million local residents. You’ve got an entire region of the US...built on this notion of everlasting and permanent water delivered via the aqueducts. If you can’t ensure it....then there’s no future there.

“...worse drought in more than 100 years...”

Gee, I wonder what caused that drought over 100 years ago, befor man started warming the globe?

Gonna build a pipe line from the great lakes. Creates all the jobs keystone would (for construction,) makes his eco base happy, and justifies a tax. Due to the “need” for labor he will give the illegals amnesty to save us all by building it. Its funny how this stuff starts out as humor.

And that’s one reason I don’t worry overly about “Aztlan”. Even if the Messicans ever managed to take over that part of California and connect it with Mexico, the water would shut off, and the whole place would dry up overnight. In their ignorance, the “reconquistas” have no idea what it takes to keep Los Angeles or the Imperial Valley alive.

Gathering a handful of smelts, throwing them in an aquarium to breed and relocate/reintroduce in better times (I’ll volunteer,) and turning the damned water back on.

Healthcare, the grocery store, restaurants, football, gardening, surveillance, the IRS, open borders, guns, homosexual marriage, abortion, marijuana, voter fraud, fashion, music, television, the smoke shop, taxes, the debt, Islam, the Middle East, drones, illegal immigration, gays in the military, political correctness, stand your ground, shutting down coal, solar power, wind farms, water ... is there anywhere this administration won’t pop their heads up and interfere with our lives?

I didn’t think about that but you are correct. It would be a big, humorously over populated and dependent Baja in short order. Without the cool race.

When we conserve water they just raise the prices because we are using less. FUBO and wildfires are not because of “Climate Change”

Well it looks as if Global Warming is here and California will have to adjust it’s way of life. Obama throws a few bucks their way to try and figure out what to do with their desert now.
He does not care that the price of food in the USA is going to be skyrocketing this year and those little smelts are gonna die anyway. Not a smidgen of real help for us OR the farmers.
I do wonder why the irrigation water for his precious golf course isn’t being diverted to Fresno post haste!

Well, if you're preparing a Dictionary of Polemic Nonsense and looking for an example for the definition of the word gobbledygook...

This’d be a good start:

“We’re going to have to stop looking at these disasters as something to wait for. We’re going to have to start looking at these disasters as something to prepare for.”

Imagine that, turned the water off to farmers because of a fish that is not even indigenous to the region and end up with a dust-bowl that they will no blame on glow bull warming so they can take control of the water.
