Hunger Ravaged Starving Hordes Gather In Syria: “The Devastation is Unbelievable”
SHTF Plan ^ | 2/26/14 | Mac Slavo

Posted on 02/26/2014 4:09:08 PM PST by Kartographer

For most Americans the crisis is over. For the people of Syria, war rages on and the fight for survival continues.

According to The Daily Mail, over 120,000 people are without food, water, medicine and essential services in Syria’s capital city of Damascus. Many are starving to death. Humanitarian aid has been slow to come amid complications with Syrian leadership, continued fighting in the country and the sheer size of the population requiring assistance.

This is what it looks like when a country’s entire infrastructure is completely destroyed and its safety nets fall apart.

People searching for resources as far as the eye can see…

Hundreds of men, women and children fight to get to the front of the queue as a refugee camp in Damascus receives food parcels after being cut off for months.

Today the United Nations Relief and Works Agency (UNRWA) called on rebel forces and Al-Assad’s troops alike to allow ‘safe and unhindered humanitarian access’ to thousands of civilians in Yarmouk, a Palestinian district in the Syrian capital.

Yarmouk has seen some of the worst fighting in the capital, leading to severe food shortages and widespread hunger.

‘The images are at once epic and personal. Row upon row of gaunt faces, serried ranks of grimy, raged figures; the delicate, hunger-ravaged features of children waiting in line for an UNRWA food parcel; the face of a mother creased in grief for a deceased child; tears of joy as a father is reunited with a long-lost daughter.

‘These are the vignettes of inhumanity that have become the regular fare of nightly news bulletins. They are UNRWA’s daily reality.’

From this article: Hundreds of men, women and children fight to get to the front of the queue as a refugee camp in Damascus receives food parcels after being cut off for months.

Its your choice you can prep or you can stand around on a bridge waiting for FEMA to bring you a bottle of water, a MRE, a warm blanket and a kiss for your boo-boo and maybe you can even get your picture as you stand there on the national news.

Look what happens every Black Friday and that’s just Christmas shopping, look what happened recently during the winter storms in the south and the northeast. Look at what is happening in the Ukraine, Venezuela, Argentina, Thailand and so on....The world is dry tinder just awaiting the right spark.

So listen to what the bible says: A prudent man sees danger and takes refuge, but the simple keep going and suffer for it. NIV Proverbs 22:3

Selco and other experinced real world SHTF survivors have covered the fact that many times people just can not except that a breakdown is occurring even as they watch it happening before their eyes. Why don’t they realize it? It’s caused by a condition called ‘Normalcy Bias’ a mental state people enter when facing a disaster.

It causes people to underestimate both the possibility of a disaster occurring and its possible effects. This often results in situations where people fail to adequately prepare for a disaster, and on a larger scale, the failure of governments to include the populace in its disaster preparations. The assumption that is made in the case of the normalcy bias is that since a disaster never has occurred then it never will occur. It also results in the inability of people to cope with a disaster once it occurs. People with a normalcy bias have difficulties reacting to something they have not experienced before. People also tend to interpret warnings in the most optimistic way possible, seizing on any ambiguities to infer a less serious situation.

A good article on ‘Normalcy Bias’ is on our own ChocChipCookies Blog The Survival Mom:

http://thesurvivalmom.com/2010/12/29/normalcy-bias/

You either prepare and stand on your own beholden to no one or you become dependent on others to provide your basic needs and become their ‘serf’. Me I don’t want to be beholden to anyone for providing what is needed for me and mine. I certainly don’t want to have to kiss some ‘gubberment’ third class bureaucratic to try and coax some help from them, I don’t want some ‘jack booted’ thug herding me in line and telling me where to stand, sit, eat or sleep. And last but not least I don’t want to be shut up in with a bunch of ‘zombies’ and have to worry about not only trying to get basic necessities but having to fight to keep what I manage to get.

Just getting started or an old hand you might find my Preparedness Manual helpful. You can download the manual at:

http://tomeaker.com/kart/Preparedness1j.pdf NOTE! THIS IS A FREE DOWNLOAD. I DO NOT MAKE ONE CENT OFF MY PREPAREDNESS MANUAL!

For those of you who haven’t started already it’s time to prepare almost past time maybe. You needed to be stocking up on food guns, ammo, basic household supplies like soap, papergoods, cleaning supplies, good sturdy clothes including extra socks, underwear and extra shoes and boots, cash (I myself have been putting up change for the past few years both for the metal content and the fact that using change places to make what purchases you can will move you down the the list of possible marks during shtf), tools, things you buy everyday start buying two and put one up.

As the LDS say “When the emergency is upon us the time for preparedness has past.”

Again I like to recomend FReeper’s ChocoChipCookie Blog The Survival Mom (Please Blog Police let this one slide!) Where you can get lots of useful information like:

And More

In other news, Bashar and Asma Al Assad are having for dinner, as a first course Osetra Caviar, Dry-Aged Rib Eye Beef, Fingerling Potato Velouté, Quail Eggs, Crisped Chive Potatoes, and as the second course Winter Garden Salad, Petite Mixed Radish, Baby Carrots, Merlot Lettuce with Red Wine Vinaigrette.

I hate governments.

Where is the humanitarian relief from other Muslim nations?
Did it get lost? Sent to the wrong country?

What’s up?

Obama's plan for America

King Obama knows that food is a powerful weapon.

He already directly controls the food for a record number of the people via food stamps.
The latest numbers are that almost 47 million receive food stamps.

And how many additional millions rely on those 47 million people for food?

Obama knows that people who do not need to rely on the government for food and sustenance are independent, free willed and difficult to bring under the thumb of government.

That is why all of his policies have the effect of weakening the middle class.
I say he is intentionally waging a War On The Middle Class.

If people cannot find jobs to support and feed themselves and their families they are easier prey for an aggressive oppressive tyrant like Obama.

Gee, that is what a siege is like.
Maybe if they surrendered and helped the Syrian Military drive out the Al Qaeda and Moslem Brotherhood mutants, then the NGOs could get in there with emergency supplies?

I read that, then clicked on the link in the article about what will happen to people who have no preparations, even though I had read it before.

To cut to the bottom line of preparing, assume there is no power and won't be any power, then prepare to replace what no power takes away. Doing that, will prepare a person for any emergency that happens whether it is natural caused or human caused.

It is that assumption of no power and it isn't coming back, that started my prepping in 1998. That is still my assumption as I continue to fine tune my preps.

Hurricane season begins June 1, and few people will notice or care until the last minute if one comes their way, then they will strip the stores as usual if they get there before everything is gone. Happens every time. Buying food and bottled water and regular batteries for their flashlight, will not replace what loss of power takes away.

People are complacent in this country since water and food is so near. They can't imagine it won't be there. Some who went through a bad hurricane in the northeast (New Jersey/New York area) now know what can happen and how long the aftermath can last.

We don't know what will happen in this country, so why not have some survival insurance along with your car insurance, house insurance, healthcare insurance, and life insurance?

Did you notice in the last week there have been a couple of different stories on the amount of food that Americans waste.

Lets see if the MSM picks up the pace and starts hyping the amount of food being wasted and how people overseas are starving while Americans waste food.

“assume there is no power That too, is where I begin my Preps.”

Good for you. That type preparing gives you peace of mind. You won't panic if an emergency happens.

When a hurricane is approaching, I know for damn sure I'm losing power, so I bring out the substitutes for power and have them in place when the power fails. When it fails, I still have TV to be able to see what is happening in the area down to Galveston and still have a working phone, etc.. There is not much disruption in the household once the replacements are set up. I'll tell you the biggest change and it is QUIET, when power goes off, it is absolute quiet. Some people say they like that or would like that but it is not true. It is abnormal and it works on one’s nerves, a person may get nervous/anxious and tempers are likely to flare due to the quiet that is abnormal.

The hour is late.

Those who have eyes to see already know: Something wicked this way comes.

None of us know exactly what, when, or how. But make no mistake: Something wicked this way comes.

Kartographer has been trying mightily to sound the alarm, to convince people they must prepare, and to give them tools to do so. Thank you for that, Kartographer.

But the majority of the people in our beloved land cannot be reached by any human alarm. They are living in denial and cannot be reached. They will not see this coming until it is already upon them. And then it will be too late.

The same comment applies to many, many Freepers.

May God have mercy on our souls.
