I am done, whatever (VANITY)

Posted on 03/02/2014 3:13:23 PM PST by aft_lizard

I am done. This site has broken me. I am as staunch a conservative as you will find. After returning from Iraq, injured and upset, I turned here and found a welcoming community that shared my thoughts. I am a proud Gadsden Flag waiving man of the Tea Party movement. But because I don't think Sarah Palin is as historically important as other GOP women in the past, I am now considered an idiot, a RINO, ass-kisser and whatever negative connotation you can throw my way. This site has changed so much since that dictator want to be became President it sickens me. It's lost its sense of community and has ran off many a good person. Heck even the Tea Party seems to be distorted here.

.

The majority here are good people.

There are a few who are just mean spirited.

A few who just get po’d at you for no discernible reason.
Forget them.

They’re not worth getting upset over.

But the media set their sites on her—exactly the way they did Dan Quayle—and made her a laughingstock. Once someone has been marginalized in that fashion it is hard to overcome. Folks on the opposite side will never understand her appeal and those in the middle will never hear the truth, only the snippets of the soundbites. She MAY have won again in Alaska, but between all the harassment she was enduring re: all the ethics complaints filed against her and the financial cost it was incurring it is hard to say. She, at least, is a potential bellweather.

That’s it! I’m done, you just went and pushed one too many buttons!

Now if you’ll excuse me, I’m going to try to fit this square block into this round hole heh.

Thank you for your service. Sorry to see you go and even more sorry you let some bottom feeding scummy RINO or left of center thinking libertarian get the better of you. In the years I've been here I've seen the tide ebb and flow back and forth and my skin has developed some thickness. There have been several attempts at running me off during those times.

Just take a break for awhile and develop some thicker hide and get back into the fray. The libtards and their rabble rousing libertarian friends have nothing better to do than to scare away conservatives.

Good post. Add me to the way you expressed yourself. I too learned long ago not to worry what others around here think of me. No matter what one opines there will always be somebody who will take issue with the opinion so just don’t let them get get under my skin any at all. I can take it as well as I can give it. Have to around here.

If you haven’t checked it out yet, you need to see what’s going on in Connecticut.

or left of center thinking libertarian get the better of you.

You missed something, aft_lizard IS the pro-choice, left of center libertarian according to his self description on other threads, it is why he is upset about Palin and the tea party.

I'd wager the clothes on my back that a very small minority here have anything less than *enormous* respect for Governor Palin.I strongly encourage you to rethink your position.

After the mediots spent so much time marginalizing her with half-truths and falsehoods, it's no wonder that he finds her of less importance than some other women in politics. But here is one item I seldom see addressed.

She cleaned up corruption in her own party in Alaska. That is highly unusual, and got the attention of many in Washington. They FEAR her, fear that she would do the same there as she did back home. Thus they will never support or even defend her. The GOP-E just wants her to go away.

That is what (to me) makes her a treasure.

It’s a common pattern. PDSer spouts PDS and gets railed.
PDSer screams persecution/the forum has gone downhill
PDSer upset that people hold his feet to fire and avoids addressing his own BS in the matter.

Then they threaten to leave and rarely do. Attention whoring basically.

PDS and liberal behavior go hand in hand. There is nothing wrong with having disagreements with her over legit issues. But you RARELY see legit issues form the basis of a PDSer complaint.

Let's look at the quote by aft_lizard that Norm Lenhart says is an example of PDS. It's a reply by aft_lizard to this thread:

Priebus Tweet Sparks Outrage: Sarah Palin Not Mentioned as Important Figure in Women’s History Month

This is his reply:

To: 2ndDivisionVet

Why should he mention her? I am a big fan but historically she hasn’t done anything to warrant recognition outside of Alaska. Should he have said “Sarah Palin who resigned as Governor of Alaska and failed to win the Vice Presidency as the second woman to ever run?”

Is that PDS (Palin Derangement Syndrome)?

I supported Palin with enthusiasm from the get go..her first major speech brought tears to my eyes

But I found over time that while I adore her that she has definitely said or done things I don’t think are good for our cause or her trajectory.

There is a clique here that brooks absolutely zero dissent over Palin...none zip and will run together and ping JR begging for a zot so they can all high five in glee.....like little bully kids.....JR to his credit usually ignores their pleas except the notorious pissant episode

That aspect of this forum ...the pack attacks....over not just Palin but anything that generates rigid group think is a downside....we need uniformity to a point but not in my opinion over someone who didn’t even run....after acting like she would for years

This is no reason to quit ......ignore them or simply fight back.....cautiously

Its not just about Palin though....the same crowd moved on to Cain and this predates all that....even though now criticizing Bush is the norm it was once zottable and brought harpies down on you quick

To be honest its easiest just to ignore...let them have their fun...

Now some here really do hate Palin...not just stuff with merit like the Queeg endorsement

My personal opinion is dissent should be tolerated in primaries but given this conservative versus RINO dynamic so heady now..

Its harder...

Anyhow..don’t quit

See #392. Striking fear into the hearts of Washington’s GOP-E (Progressive-lite) is a national event.

Hey you manger dawgs........the cowardly little fellow is back! (Since you/we are “vile, childish brats” you might be interested to what the little coward has to say here). Yeah, we do not like him because he lives in a third world craphole.............Yeah, that is is it huh?!!!! Our disgust has everything to do with his constant bashing of America and his thin veiled attempts to get other FReepers to run out powder like he did? He STILL can’t figure it out. “Out of context” my butt. You know ECACTLY what you are saying coward and nothing taken by the dawgs is “out of context”. Since he is not a fan of black folks, (Oh yeah little fella, we all saw your post from a few days back), he is happy in his new home. Not a lot of Black People in the Philippines I guess. Of course he is VERY proud of his DWA, (Dish Washing Appliance), wife. (Oh yeah, we remember that post also). Okay; WHERE IS THE QUOTE LIAR?

No, “the same crowd” did not move on to Cain.

Governor Palin is the most popular politician among the primary voters, her support is vast among conservatives and the tea party and has nothing to do with the relatively obscure, and short lived figure, Cain.

POLL: SARAH PALIN HAS HIGHEST FAVORABILITY RATING AMONG GOP PRIMARY VOTERS

“”The best liked person we tested on this poll with Republican primary voters is actually Sarah Palin who has a 70/20 favorability rating.””

Welcome home, and I hope your injuries have healed.

Even though I would tend to disagree with you on Sarah Palin, that’s just part of being on a discussion forum, and your opinion is as valid as anyone else’s opinion.

Would rather you stayed and hashed it out. There will always be disagreements, and disagreeable people; but the free exchange of ideas, opinions, and thoughts is what makes us all better.

Your comments can change peoples’ minds, educate folks, and influence them to do better, be better, be stronger.

Your voice is important. You fought for the right to voice yourself; you, more so than many others, should be speaking up.

So please reconsider.
