As the Wendy's ad slogan from the 1980s said, where's the beef?

What, no bacon?!
I think it's based on your personal genetics and your habits that affect them as opposed to a one factor fits all that affects everyone claim. A lot of this is intended to bolster more social engineering efforts.
My grandmother smoked and loved cheese and meat, especially the fatty part sliced off of pork chops and then fried to a crisp. She lived to just one month shy of 100.
I am mostly avoiding such foods mentioned in the posted article and increasing my protein intake with an aim to have the amino acids alanine and histidine needed to make carnosine. Carnosine is thought to help protect against glycation (not to be confused with glycosylation) and I believe carnosine can acutally pry the glycated molecules apart.
I have no formal training is this stuff however but I find it fascinating.
Since an anti-aging product name has been mentioned I will simply add another one (there are many) and the one that I am impressed with vis-a-vis anti-aging stuff is Nu Skin / Pharmanex stuff. Again there are many brands (and expensive!) so one must do his/her due diligence.
Looks like a dog I used to have. And yes he would look that happy with a cheeseburger.
I too am impressed with carnosine - but quite expensive through Life Extension.
And you have to take so many to be effective.
I will look into alanine and histidine.
Everyone thinks I’m crazy for all the supplements I take but a couple of months ago at work I was the only one in my group who didn’t get sick and I’m the oldest one. Maybe a coincidence...but maybe not.
I think we are made of certain ingredients and when those go out of balance then we are set up for disease so I try to do the best I can to maintain - mostly with green vegetable juice and supplements. I tend to use vegetable protein over animal even though I do think we need some animal.
So that’s my theory and I’m sticking to it.
Birth is hazardous to your health. 100% of all live births end in death.
I like smoked gouda , yes I do.
(youtube has tons of his actual classroom lectures)
Menthol?
I'd be remiss if I didn't mention that I discovered about a year-and-a-half ago a juice that I really believe has done wonders for me.
A friend of mine is a distributor so at the risk of sounding like I am promoting the company I will still mention the fruit Gấc from Viet Nam mostly I believe. There are other South East Asian fruit in the juice but Gấc is the main fruit.
I will respond to FReepmail however if anyone is interested and cannot find it.
“Actually if you took the time to read the study you would know that it claims veggie protein is just as bad. “
i read it, just not closely; not worth spending much time on such BS.
Beautiful!
I had to get to the HTML source to read the article. For some reason there was no scroll available.
I just want to point out that for us geezers it's a different story; to wit, "However, we also propose that at older ages, it may be important to avoid a low-protein diet to allow the maintenance of healthy weight and protection from frailty."
Besides, when I saw that person who said that racism would stop if old white people would just die that was an immediate turn off. Dr. Oz just think about that.
