Sarah Slocum loves her Google Glass. She wears the gadget on her face for more than 12 hours a day and enjoys showing others how to use it. With the wink of an eye, she can take a picture or use her voice to command it to record video. The device is, she says, “the future”.
So it was with some shock that she discovered there are those who disagree. Rather forcibly, in fact. On a recent outing to a bar in San Francisco, the 34-year-old technology writer says she was attacked by people who told her “F--- Google!”, accused her of “killing this city” and ripped the hi-tech gear from her head.
The incident has become a touchstone for a wider debate in San Francisco, where a section of the otherwise tolerant, liberal and peace-loving population appears to have had enough of the inexorable march of technology. Bars and coffee shops have begun putting up signs banning Google Glass devices. Special buses that take employees to work in nearby Silicon Valley have been picketed. Hundreds of demonstrators recently gathered outside Twitter’s headquarters to protest about tax breaks for the company. And, most of all, there is anger over spiraling rents and evictions as young tech workers colonize previously low-income areas. …

Google seems to be becoming the Left’s next Standard Oil, Ma Bell, Coca Cola, Exxon, McDonalds, Halliburton. I hope they enjoy the attention.

Another version of the story was that she went to a bar called Molotov’s in San Francisco, which was where this happened. I wonder if they serve Molotov cocktails there..............
Now that they are a big evil corporation like Microsoft who pull down billions of dollars a quarter in profits, they are not quite so adored by the San Francisco socialists anymore.
San Francisco is none of those things.
Some of the most violent, ideologically rigid and IN-tolerant people you will ever confront.
HIV has resulted in high entitlement program dependency among gay people. Most states (e.g. California) have HIV programs that provide subsidized pharmaceuticals and other medical care for managing the disease.
Whenever I argue politics with gay acquaintances, I can reliably get a meltdown by pointing out that if history is a guide, gay people should be against big government, not for it.

The odd and colorful homeless if all types capering and begging on the streets is probably a better tourist attraction than sensible industry-and SanFran has been a place to visit and watch the freak show for a long time...
The interesting part of the story is that people that were being filmed by surveillance cameras at the bar and filming her on their cellphones objected to being “spied on” by her google glasses. There’s not a lot of thinking things through in some people.
Anyone driving a car with that garbage on their face should go to jail!
MSM talks about the rift between Tea Party and GOP-e. The rift never involved slashing tires, showing up at opponents homes wearing hoods and carrying torches shouting we will not tolerate this anymore and spray painting the house “Tea Party” or “RINO” before the mask mob leaves. The fight between OWS wing of the Dem party and the DNC establishment will intensify after the 2014 elections if the GOP takes the House and Senate. It will be violent because the OWS wing is truly Communist Alinsky lead, and they are using income gap (poor Dems vs rich Dems). Oakland is the epicenter of the conflict and it will spread to the rich Dem centers of every major Dem controlled city. Keep an eye on the level of property damage. Property is the last line of personal safety. If the attacker breaches property, physical violence is not far behind. Dems kicking Dems. If the GOP is smart, keep out of it and let the Dems kill each other.
40 percent of US is hardcore Dem. Within the 40 parts the breakdown is 15 liberal whites; 12 black; 9 hispanic; 2 Asian; 2 Jewish. The primary group of rich Dems being beaten by OWS is white liberals, Asians and Jews.
Could be a bit of hyperbole going on here. I don’t see Google Glass laying waste to more than 50 or 60 blocks of downtown San Francisco. 100, tops.
