Friday Funny – A Nurses Guide to the Apocalypse

People send me stuff.

Today I got this cartoon from an unexpected source; a website dedicated to medical nursing professionals. Apparently, they take the same sort of dim view about the Climate Change Apocalypse as they do the Zombie Apocalypse, but at least they have the good sense to laugh about it.

Of course, by making fun of climate change in the same satire with the Zombie Apocalypse, I’m pretty sure they are now on Lewandowsky’s and Cook’s nutter radar.

So I'm just a little late for the Friday silliness thread. Maybe I should call a nurse.

Hmmmm...nothing in there about vacation time, compensation and benefits during cataclysmic catastrophic events. I’ll need to discuss with a zombie union rep.

I can guarantee you that the union is working on it as I write.

Uhh, a 10-kiloton nuke is an itsy-bitsy one.

Yeah, but what do nurses know about nukes other than x-ray machines? No offense to any nurses out there. We appreciate you. A lot. :>)

Nothing, because it’s not like we might have to treat victims or anything like that. (Said with a wink and chiddinly.) The hospital where I trained was built with a decontamination entrance to the ED and we did indeed have classes about nuclear disasters and preparedness. Nevada requires all nurses to have continuing education in bioterrorism and I’m sure other states have similar types of disaster nursing related requirements. I got into CMU at 17. I left to go into nursing. CMU was a cakewalk in comparison.

With all that training I’m glad we live in NV in case they ever decide to use Yucca Mountain. LOL! Course it’s just a “little” south of us.
