Fears of Volcanic Eruption as Bison Seen Fleeing Yellowstone Park (Video)

A number of bloggers are posting video of animals fleeing the Yellowstone Park this week. Some believe this may be a sign of an imminent volcano eruption.

The Epoch Times reported:

A number of bloggers are posting videos that show bison and other animals allegedly leaving Yellowstone National Park, prompting theories that as earthquakes ramp up the seismic activity will set off the Yellowstone supervolcano.

Two of the main bloggers behind the discussion stress that there’s no way to know when the supervolcano will go off but note that the 4.8 magnitude earthquake that hit on March 30 seemed to set off a reaction from the animals, who are moving for a reason.

“Whether I believe this, or whether I don’t believe the story or not, I don’t know. I can tell you this story I saw this morning about the buffaloes running the street … whether or not it’s because of any activity in Yellowstone or not, I don’t know,” said blogger Jay Lee, who posted a story on his site tatoott1009.com.

“But I’ll tell you this, whatever the case may be, that their running away from Yellowstone is an alert of some sort.”

I’d take this seriously IF animals were leaving the area in all directions. Or if multiple herds were leaving and multiple species.

the 4.8 magnitude earthquake that hit on March 30

This wouldn't be happening if the oil companies weren't fracking under Yellowstone.

I don’t see anything in that video indicating what direction they are running. As far as I can tell, they’re heading for the center of the park. There’s either something scary behind them or something tasty ahead of them

To get to the southern part of my county I have to drive through YNP.

If the animals are leaving the park, it’s likely because we have had the harshest winter in three decades. Too much snow drives the animals out of the park.

As for earthquakes, I was in one in August ‘59 - just a few miles from Yellowstone. My first earthquake was a 7.4 +/- and killed 28 people. 4.3 is doo-doo.

Yellowstone has a long way to go before the caldera (it’s NOT a volcano) blows.

There will be plenty of major signs - excessive ground heating near the Norris Geyser Basin that will melt your boots, significant rising of the level of Yellowstone Lake, multiple dormant geysers becoming active again and the like.

All is well.

Bison fleeing the park...

well, the humongous herds of bison roamed throughout the great plains, so it's in their genes. Could just be spring break after a hard winter and some bison dude like snorted out, "ROAD TRIP!"

Well, at least they know enough to be in the left lane ...

They seem to be coming down one crater wall and them running along the valley floor. They do not seem to be panicking, however. Just out for their daily constitutional.

Well unless they are running on hot soil remember going to the beach and running a bit stand on your towel for a few or the shade of a trash can

Killjoy.

This is the part where we are supposed to start running in circles as if our hair is on fire and crying about how man is destroying the planet...global warming, you know, that sort of stuff.

“......global warming, you know, that sort of stuff.”

Well, Yellowstone Park is part of the earth, and as such, by rote, is part of the globe. And the globe is quite warm in many parts of the park.

People and/or their dogs die each year from falling into/jumping into a too hot ‘hot pot’ - illegally, of course. Their skin just falls off in no time - they usually never make it to a burn center.

IF the caldera was to ‘blow’ prior to the ‘blow’ it’s likely that many more pots would become overly hot and the very hot ones will, likely, begin to boil.

The only true definition of global warming, IMHO.

“Bison Seen Fleeing Yellowstone Park (Video)”

The bison realized they had almost missed the deadline to sign up for Obamacare; and were rushing to find a working Internet connection.
