The marginalization of other voices is now complete.
The cross-promotion of more white male celebrities prove it: The entertainment industry has perfected the development of white, cis, straight, male characters. The marginalization of “other voices” — except when those “others” are brought in only to aid in the cheap punch line of a joke — is complete. This is aggression that we do not have to accept. We will protest this until it ends.
Many dismissed the protest we undertook last month with #CancelColbert, a hashtag we set up in response to a blatantly racist Tweet about Asians from the Colbert show’s account.
We think people are surprised to see that their monolithic view of Asian Americans as a model minority is being challenged. We are not the problem. Your stereotypes and narrow roles for us are the problem.

Trouble is, fifteen minutes later you want to laugh at her again.
Anybody who doesn’t know that we in mainstream America has never seen the word “cis”, or know what it means, has nothing to say to us.
As for Colbert, I'm not stuck with him. I've never seen his show and I've not seen the late show in years and from the looks of it I won't see the late show again anytime soon.
The word CIS has something to do with sexual identity. I know it is used in some of the 50+ gender identity choices allowed by Facebook.
But, I don’t know what it means.
“asian” is an overly broad category. It includes people whose backgrounds are extremely different. A Thai is totally different from a Saudi. A Japanese is completely different from a Pakistani. Not even the same planet, let alone the same continent.
“asian” was chosen so as to deliberately create a huge victim category. Just as “gay” was broadened to “LGBT”. There is nothing remotely similar about a gay woman and a “transgendered” whatever. Nothing. Yet they are now both in the same victim category.
Enough with the victim categories.
Let her keep protesting, I’m sure Colbert welcomes the free publicity.
Her name is “Suey”? Oh that is just begging for the nickname “Chop Suey”, but that would be racist, wouldn’t it?

I’m not laughing. I’m tired if the victimhood syndrome that loves to make mountains out of molehills. I don’t know what you mean about laughing at her 15 minutes from now.
Unless you're using made-up words and terminology to feel good about yourself and somehow superior over people who have gone about their lives unaware of your made-up verbiage for your made-up problems.
Judging by the background in post #2, I would say “yes”.

I agree wholeheartedly. You can be a white Russian from Siberia or anywhere west of the Urals and you are an Asian. Indian, Pakistani etc. and you are an Asian.
What? Straight, white males? Our founding fathers would be turning over in their graves.
