Here's What Donald Sterling's Love Of Koreans Reveals About Racism In America
Business Insider ^ | 05/06/2014 | HUA HSU AND RICHARD JEAN SO, SLATE

There’s something insufficiently descriptive about calling Los Angeles Clippers owner and real estate developer Donald Sterling a racist. By now, everyone is familiar with the baffling remarks he made to his girlfriend, admonishing her for featuring photos of black people on her Instagram feed and for bringing her black friends to Clippers games.

These weren’t merely the words of a jilted madman. They fit within a broader pattern of behavior, most notably a series of lawsuits in which Sterling was charged with housing discrimination on the basis of race against Latino and black tenants—black people “smell and attract vermin,” he allegedly remarked to his staff.

This is racism in its most recognizable, blatant form: the powerful bigot creating structural obstacles against the advancement of poor minorities.

But there’s another piece to Sterling’s warped worldview, one that illustrates the bizarre and incoherent ways in which racism works.

As Sterling allegedly schemed to rid his properties of certain racial minorities, he sought to fill his development with Koreans, an ethnic group he valorized as hardworking and reliable.

Sterling did not take a passive approach to attracting Korean tenants. He changed the name of one of his buildings to “Korean World Towers,” adorned his buildings with Korean flags, and explicitly stated a preference for “Koreans” in his housing ads.

It's his prerogative.

Is this worse than Islam and their motto..."Kill all the Christians and Jews". Yet the Prez and his lot praise Islam at every chance.

In the early 90s I was in South Korea in a shopping area when the clock struck 5pm. Out came several hundred beautiful Korean ladies. Long black hair, trim, healthy and flawless skin. I thought I had died and gone to heaven.

In 2003, a U.S. district judge issued an injunction barring him from using the word “Korean” in his building names and advertisements.

You can't NAME your own buildings? Free country my ass.

Legions of social scientists and historians have debunked the myth of the Asian-American’s “natural” orientation toward economic achievement. They point out that it is more a function of immigration trends in the 1960s, which favored East Asian professionals who often arrived with significant educational and wealth advantages.

What utter nonsense. Of course Asians have a better work ethic and focus on educational advancement than do other ethnicities, such as Blacks and Hispanics.

I’ve seen Chinese men sleeping on cardboard in an alley in SF’s Chinatown, but I think they were working in the restaurant there.

Of course it was not fair to generalize about Black or Hispanic tenants, based upon an unfortunate sample--that is assuming for the sake of argument that the man actually did (as opposed to merely blowing off steam about that unfortunate sample).

But in America, it used to be the situation that one could favor any individual, group, or what have you, on his or her own property. It also, used to be the case, that people could argue with each other, and make private comments, intended for the ears of the person they were arguing with, without the conversation going viral, because someone or some agency had illegally eaves dropped.

More and more, it appears that Mr. Sterling is a victim of the increasing nazification of American culture. One does not have to agree with his personal descriptions of anyone; does not have to share any bias that he may actually have against any individual, group or what have you; one does not have to like Mr. Sterling; but it is very obvious who the victim is here, and it is not a vengeful NBA, or any minority race, creed, or HIV Positive patient.

Interesting question: How many Asian beggars do we see around our cities?

Not many! And read again what Jefferson said about native Americans in 1782, before the corrupting influence of a Welfare State lowered our standards. (Jefferson On Welfare.)

Understand to the core of your being how insane is the contemporary Leftwing media circus--how totally we have been betrayed by those who supposedly are reporting the news..

How odd...or not. In the same issue of Business Insider is another article which writes about “Why Asian Americans excel at academics”.

” I’ve seen Chinese men sleeping on cardboard in an alley in SF’s Chinatown, but I think they were working in the restaurant there. “

I could just see them talking to their parents...

“You sleep in Washington machine box, why not Refridgerator box like Chun Lin down the street? You making us look bad, you not B-sian, you Asian, act like one or you dishonor us all! Now go to the alliance store and get a better box and you better get a Maytag box, we have image to maintain!”
