Good that he did it, but wrong place to do it in because the libs will no doubt send him away for life for double homicide. Oh yes, and expect the carjackers family to sue him which they no doubt will win being that it's the Bronx which is notorious for rewarding criminals.

This part of the article is too good not to share:

“Johnson [one of the carjackers], “a loving, caring, brother,” became the father of a boy last month, said his sister, Yanique Johnson, 26.

“The unidentified Mercedes driver was taken into custody and has been uncooperative, cops sources said.”

The victim is probably toast for having an unregistered weapon and no license to have it.

What he should have done is flee when his task was completed.

Yep, exactly. The worst thing Bernard Goetz ever did was turn himself in. A Bronx jury eventually found a $43 MILLION dollar judgement against him. Get mugged twice, with the city doing the biggest mugging.

The police are never there to help just plain old YOU. They are there to enforce that laws and policies that their government choose.

In this place, NYC, the very last thing you want to do is deal with police after having shot someone, whether legally or not. My advice is to hop in your car leaving the immediate area with your lights off and drive like you stole it.

Johnson, “a loving, caring, brother,” became the father of a boy last month, said his sister, Yanique Johnson, 26.

Why the %^@#$! was he in an attempted armed car jacking then?

This is how justice should be handed out. On the spot, only cost is the clean-up, end of story.

According to census data, Wakefield is primarily black, 73% and 19% hispanic so the Mercedes guy is probably not white.
If he were, by now, Sharpton and the rest of the race pimps would already be surrounding the police station demanding
JUST-US.

Regardless of the races, I submit the planet is better off without those two.

‘went berserk’ That is a pretty damning statement.
....surprised they didn’t claim he ‘murdered’ the two punks.
Course if it weren’t for sensationalist headlines, the NY Daily News would have nothing to report.

As to uncooperative, he is just following ‘the guidelines’ of saying NOTHING to anyone but a lawyer.

Can’t imagine the neighborhood he was in but pretty sure he wouldn’t want to be standing in the middle of the street when the rest of the troglodytes came crawling up out of the sewer...Probably figured he was better off trying to get his car back....

At least that is the ‘defense’ I would be using ....

I agree...but they still would get a pass if it’s me on the jury. Assuming the guy was minding his own business when these two sons butted in and scared the crap out of him...that, to me, makes a “rational response” more difficult, and therefore I give him more leeway.

Bottom line - if you want to jack someone, you have to be prepared for a non-happy ending.

Yep, because his life is going to be nothing but absolute hell now. That city does everything they possibly can to screw over victims of crimes. Just as one example, when I was insane enough to live there, one night I came back from work, parked my car in the street. Next morning I came out 5am saw my side view mirrors were smashed and my windshield cracked, most likely by some ferals during the school night. And what was in my windshield? Two tickets for “Equipment violation, no side view mirror and damaged windshield”. Crime committed, city wastes absolutely no time in screwing over the victim.

sound advise..
eastern: shoot, hop in your car with
your lights off and drive away.

western: shoot, shovel, and shut-up.

coastal areas: shoot, haul, dump and sail away.

hopefully; the shooter is relatively safe and shall be set free..sad, to see lawful citizens are treated
like scum, while the criminals run wild.

I agree...but they still would get a pass if it’s me on the jury.

Depending on the testimony I may as well.

There was a case in Detroit a few years ago where a guy chased a thief down and cornered him in an alley and killed him. The judge was as lenient as possible and only gave him 3 years. Unfortunately the guy chose to go without a jury trial and the federal sentencing guidelines are where he picked up 15 more years.

The guy's house had been broken into 3 times in a week. He came home from work and found 3 men breaking into his house a 4th time so naturally he went after them. He caught the slow one who chose to ask "What are you going to do, shoot me?" and laughed. The guy shot him 3 times.

The judge in the case likened it to a rancher killing predators threatening his herd.

Cops are there to arrest. They don't look for justice, they don't look to help, they don't care who's at fault. They arrest, handcuff and if they can, try to get incriminating statements to complete the package.

They will probably also shoot your dog but that's just the cost of calling 911.

As a practical matter, if you find yourself in a situation with cops of any kind, do what they tell you to, keep your empty hands completely visible, don't move quickly, don't say anything, listen to a lawyer. Your life and freedom - even if you are innocent or the victim in the situation - depend on this. Cops shoot way too quickly now. It's a different world than it used to be.

The thing that struck me about the article is the emphasis on the brand of car. Yeah, some Mercedes-Benzes are expensive, so perhaps more worth car-jacking/fighting over. I drove one for my formewr employer for a while (s-class). This $75,000 (early ‘90s) car had the hardest plastic seats since the Honda Del Sol, the type you find stacked in a public school auditorium.

Why do you never see “Dodge driver turns tables on carjackers, shoots both men dead...”?

The victim was berserk, the criminals were “loving and caring”

We’ll know soon enough if the “berserk” victim was white. If he is this will become the pre-meditated mass murder of the century, the brutal senseless killing of two wonderful, caring community leaders.

Barack Obama, Eric Holder and crew will parachute into the Bronx to inflame the resulting racial tensions (i.e. the Democrat get-out-the-vote initiative.)

Regardless we’re going to be told that the answer to this is more gun laws, regardless of whether the gun was legally registered in the first place.

I really applaud his actions and truly believe he did the right thing BUT I think he will be railroaded into a swift trial.

I went back and read the entire article AFTER commenting and didn’t realize he shot them as they were fleeing in their own vehicle(stolen???), not in his.

The enlightening part was out of the MANY responses, I didn’t see a one that was against the guy.
Of course from what I understand in the ‘big city’ if one is wont to read newspapers and comment on a newspaper web site, they sort of disqualify themselves...

Always figured if you got jury duty, show up with a newspaper under your arm, claim you read 4 or 5 a day (that gets harder every day ...YIPEEE!!) and usually have an opinion on any and everything....

Probably wouldn’t hurt to kind of let it slip that you are pro gun, pro traditional marriage, etc.... More than likely you will get excused in the first round.....

PLEASE don’t ‘say’ I am shirking my duty, if I were to get locked in a room with as few as 1 oBamaBat and 1 low info voter, the next trial would be MINE— cause surely, at the very least I will assault one of the clowns (or today insult is enough for charges)and probably end up ‘strangling’ one/some of them.

He’s toast because he committed a double murder. Regardless of his weapons registration state... You are allowed to defend yourself. You are not allowed to chase someone down after they are no longer threatening you and kill them.

The punks may have gotten what they deserved but there is no grey area based on the article that he committed double homocide.

Nope, if you hunt someone down after they are no longer a threat that is murder even in Texas and you do not have absolute right to kill to protect property even in Texas. The use of lethal force in defense of even property in Texas is not absolute. Don’t believe me set up a trap that will kill a thief and if it goes off and you are not at the property when it goes off you will indeed enjoy free room and board from the state of Texas.
