EXCLUSIVE: Donald Sterling vows to take his fight for the LA Clippers to the Supreme Court and calls Obama 'flippant' for attacking his racist views

Disgraced LA Clippers owner Donald Sterling insists that the NBA has no legal right to force him to sell his beloved basketball team and fine him $2.5m – and he’s willing to take the fight to the Supreme Court.

Sterling’s resolute stance is revealed for the first time in recordings obtained by MailOnline in which he lays bare his true feelings towards basketball’s governing body.

What’s more, the 81-year-old says he won't pay a $2.5million fine imposed upon him by the NBA. The game's governing body also placed a life ban on Sterling from ever attending an NBA basketball game.

I suspect the NBA is going to find a nefarious way to avoid a full on legal slugfest - perhaps they will conspire with Sterling’s estranged wife to have him declared incompetent and she would take over all legal decisions.

Waste of time.

The SCOTUS is completely politicized.

They will decide for Political Correctness.

Once in a while they throw us a bone, but 99% of the time, they side with the communists.

You are correct.

This involves the 1st, 4th and 5th Amendment. You have a right to be an idiot. Look at MSNBC. I guess we should just take over their operation.

I liked the way he was giving a few million to the local NAACP to buy them off and get awards...To help his reputation in “the community”

He did all the right PC stuff as in giving money to the NAACP and he still got reamed out for comments he made in private

In the world of Al Gore, is there a controlling legal authority here? Is someone going to arrest him if he shows up at a game or not pay the fine? I suppose the NBA could schedule his team out and release the players and make his team worthless. That in itself would open up a whole new bucket of worms for the NBA. I don’t care to follow the NBA but I’m going to follow this.

In all of this it should come out - in no uncertain terms - how the likes of Jesse Jackson, Al Sharpton, Louis Farakkan, Jeramiah Wright, Jamie Foxx, and Spike Lee are on record spewing their own racial vitriol toward whites. Time and time again; not just once.

After that the public should hear what's routinely said on so-called black and latino radio stations.

If all these ‘offended’ people really want to eradicate racism we need to go down this road as well.

My thoughts exactly.

Hannity plays part of the Anderson COoper interview he did, and he was talking about gays and how unnatural it is with AIDS and I actually agree with him that that kind of lifestyle should not be applauded. Strangely, Hannity came back from the segment calling him nuts and shaking his head in unbelief. So now even so called conservatives are turning a blind eye to the gay agenda?

Sterling the liberal is only doing what Clinton the Great Liberal Teacher taught him to do —dig in his heels in the face of overwhelming evidence and SUE, SUE, SUE.

This makes SENSE.

Later Al followed suit after he lost Florida by a whisker —the fighting and screaming went on and on and one, and Al didn’t bat an eye.

Decency and sparing the country..? HA..!

Liberal sports is getting what THEY DESERVE.

I hope that one microsecond before falling on the legal battlefield Don Sterling leaves pro sports a tattered, bloody PC mess with the legal bodies piled up around him up to his sagging ears.

GOOD FOR STERLING, AND GODSPEED...!!!

Dig up your billion$ and call out ALL your flying monkeys, Donald...! Let it last YEAR$...!

Arguably he is nuts, or has diminished capacity (senility).
Still, its fun to watch and most of the people on the other side deserve whatever trouble he makes for them.
It may be his finest hour !

Tom Wolfe material.

fine him $2.5m

It's not a fine, it's a tax.

Franchises are a license to own. You agree to the (in this case) the NBA Constitution and by-laws. The NBA Constitution gives the Commissioner almost unlimited power to do whatever "for the good of the league".

Sterling may have a case in not getting fair market value in a forced sale. Then the issue is compensation.

The golden nugget in all of this was last week in that second recorded conversation with a black male that was one of his supposed friends. The man is telling Sterling the word on the street about how the NBA is going to force him to sell the team and there are interested parties wanting to buy the team and names off... “Sean Combs Diddy.... OPrah....” (long pause) and then Sterling says, “Who??????” The delivery of the line and the cluelessness of who either one of those people were was priceless!
