Burger King scrapping ‘Have It Your Way’ slogan

Burger King is scrapping its 40-year-old “Have It Your Way” slogan in favor of the more personal “Be Your Way.” […]

Burger King says in a statement that the new motto is intended to remind people that “they can and should live how they want anytime. It’s ok(ay) to not be perfect … Self-expression is most important and it’s our differences that make us individuals instead of robots.”

It may seem odd for a fast-food company to champion individuality, but Burger King isn't the only one trying to project a hip, non-corporate attitude to gain favor with customers. Since 2012, for instance, Taco Bell has been touting its “Live Más” slogan, which means “live more” in Spanish. …

this new slogan sounds a big suspicious, like maybe a backdoor (oops) way to courting the homosexual lobby?

but maybe not.
I will accept, live with it.
I can still eat BK burgers, I belch up the McD’s nowadays.

ps: ......let’s hope the Army isn’t ordered to add a couple obvious homosexual lovers kissing each other, or worse, in its “Be All That You Can Be” TV adverts!

What the Hell???? I just go there to order a damn burger, not to change the world.

Time to retire it.

Just happened to get a burger there today. What they need to trumpet is that char-broiled flavor on their beef. It really is the heart of their burger.

More queer than the “Wake up with the King” commercial?

You can't get more queer, or frightening than that commercial! Some of the creepiest fare ever. I firmly believe that a large percentage of the people that come up with advertising ideas as well as those who approve them are long term psychotropic drug users...........................you know like politicians.

"Live mas" is **Spanish**??

Addressed to an individual, informally, one would probably say 'viva mas' or 'mas vida'. Collectively, as you note, 'vivir mas' certainly works.

I'm hardly the Spanish expert, but I do live in Cocle, Panama, and a couple of local friends to whom I read this bit of stupidity said 'el (meaning Burger King) es sin cerebro.' And, I'm reasonably certain from the tone of voice that he was being polite.

Where do they find these dipsticks in ad agencies? Or has Common Core a Spanish version? Or is esperanto making a comeback?

Sheesh.

in favor of the more personal “Be Your Way.”

They could save some ink by just saying "Whatever."

This is the end of the road of universal tolerance. The society is so PC that it is unwilling to stop antisocial activities... which further weaken the society, until the society is no more. We will be just isolated humans who have no common ground with our neighbors, with nothing to talk about, with nothing to agree or especially disagree on out of fear of hurting someone's feelings. The rulers of such a society would only need a handful of herders to control the whole country, as it will never unite behind a common idea.

I figured they’d adopt the Obama slogan: you’re having it MY way and damn well like it.
