Police have identified the owner of a high-performance sports car found abandoned burning near the George Washington Bridge.

Deankarte E. Ditchfield-Agboh, 33, of Palisades Park, NJ, is the owner of the 2008 Lamborghini Murcielago, Port Authority Police spokesman Joe Pentangelo said. The Lamborghini was found on fire and unoccupied in the westbound lanes near the bridge toll plaza in Fort Lee early Monday.

Looks more like a wreck. Likely he didn’t want to stick around to fail the sobriety test.

I’m guessing he ran away and left the car burning to avoid having his BAC tested.

Arrested on what charge; abandoning a vehicle, littering; arson; insurance fraud???

Are there witnesses to support the charges? Vehicles have been know to catch fire and burn alongside the roads (CAR-B-Q’s)...

This might be one of many Lamborghini’s where flammable glue was used in the rear wheel wells of the vehicle, near the engine. You guess the rest.

Don’t you know - this is the bridge that Christie blocked the exits at Fort Lee and where the news story took up about 100x more minutes than unimportant scandals like the VA, IRS, Taliban prisoner exchange, etc. Maybe they can blame this Lamborghini disaster on Christie as well, he was getting back at an area that didn’t vote for him for governor by privately giving this guy a fancy sports car he knew he couldn’t drive and that he would wreck, tying up bridge traffic. I can hear Brian Williams lead story now!

According to the article, he "was issued summonses for abandonment of a vehicle and leaving the scene of an accident."

He’ll probably claim stress and get off with a minor ticket. His insurance should pay for the removal of the burnt out car and restoration of the asphalt and/or damaged guardrail if there was one...

Those weren't Lambos. They were Ferrari 458s.

What was worst for him?
1) The crash
2) Having to appear in court
3) Being abandoned
4) Being burned
5) Being near Bush

Whatever sentence he gets for leaving the scene of an accident will be far less that what he would have gotten had he hung around the scene and blown the BAC test.

How can he appear in court after the headline clearly says the owner was found abandoned and burned in a car crash?

It’s a weird story. I head it on the radio today. I mean, didn’t anyone see this happen?

For real, that is some name!

Hey you know, in the Brit mysteries it seems the bad guy always has a hyphenated name!

And “Ditchfield”, that’s almost too perfect, it’s like he was named by Charles Dickens just for this unfortunate event.

‘Was wondering the same thing. Copy must have been written by Common Core Grad’

I don’t think they have had time to pass thru a few common core grads, which is worst. It means the previous grads are dumber than a bag of hammers. God will have save my Social Security, last 2 generations are too dumb to hold a job. I am glad I had the foresight to get a part time job. Looks like I will die working or from something else.

doesn't have to be an accident...Hubby was driving a Buick he purchased from his uncle. On the way to work, a fire started under the hood. First responder was a cop that pulled out his fire extinguisher and it was empty. By the time the fire dept showed up, the fire was in the front seat of the car. It burned so hot the key was burned into the ignition and laying on the floor of the car... Wasn't an accident or arson. Needed a report to turn in to the insurance co..

doesn't have to be an accident.

Then (1) why did he leave, and (2) who crashed it into the bridge?

I was pointing out it didn't HAVE to be an accident. Our car on fire was no accident, wiring under the hood started the fire. We needed a police report for insurance purposes. And I don't know of any law that said you cannot leave the scene of a burning car. Maybe he was drunk, that is a possibility, or he could have just seen flames coming into the car, panics ran into the bridge and left the car to burn.. He just couldn't turn it into an insurance company.

The law against "leaving the scene of an accident" would apply even to your scenario. Especially because the car not only caught fire, it also smashed into the bridge.
