3D printed semi-automatic pistol (Ruger Charger) test fire
LiveLeak ^ | 4 July 2014 | BuckOfama

Posted on 07/04/2014 3:19:25 PM PDT by Windflier

Introduction to video:

The pistol version of the popular Ruger 10/22 rifle. The Ruger Charger comes standard with 10-round flush magazines and can accept high-capacity mags holding 30 rounds or more. As demonstrated, making one with a cheap small-format 3D printer and some parts purchased on the internet (with no paperwork) is trivially easy.

30.5% wusses laying on their backs peeing, sad. Still, better than if the numbers were reversed.

That’s why 3D printers will be treated like controlled substances.

WAY too late for that. The cat’s not only out of the bag, but all the way down the street and flipping the bird as she departs.

I want to print a MACHINE GUN.

Impossible. Nobody has a detailed schematic of a fully-automatic weapon that could be rendered in the proper file format and used to print the parts. Nobody.

Well, except for the ones on the Internet.

Good to see you are here Your Voidness. How difficult is it to get the program for making it on a 3D printer? Posted my previous a second before. Don't have a TV, and don't have a 3D printer. Staples is offering one in house for $1,200, one which they admit is only good for little useless toys.

There are free downloadable CAD programs, free object files and free 3-D prep programs. I have high hopes that some day I will get my $279 printer working some day.

Try eBay and the Internet. I bought a CTC a couple months ago. Prices are all over a range from $600 - $2000, for essentially the same printer. I bought my black CTC for $660. The plain plywood tan color are generally $60 - $100 cheaper, although functionally identical. This is a clone of the Makerbot Replicator 1, at a huge savings. Dual extruders, heated build table, can print with different type filaments including ABS, PLA and Nylon. One shortcoming is a small build area of 6 inch by 6 inch by 9 inch, same as the more expensive machines. I get around this by assembling pieces to fit together, either with solvent or with aluminum rivet nuts and machine screws. So far, only about 10 percent of what I've made have been toys for my grandchildren. All the software I use is downloadable and free - Autodesk 123D and ReplicatorG being a couple examples.

I'm going to try to make some of these grown-up items with nylon, it being a very tough material.

The one he tested was still banging at the end of the video, more than adequate to get a better gun.

Good for you. I had a friend who had a dog named “RD.” He took it with him on the road, lost his job, had his dog stolen and now is tending bar 3 days a week and living hand to mouth, and his teeth, what few he has left, are worthless. Somehow he survived and even met the current owner of the dog that did not believe him when he said that was his dog. The current owner said “prove it.” The guy said “RD, give me five.” The guy was flabbergasted to find he gave him five and said it is your dog but the real owner refused to take it as he could not care for it. Long story but I thought it was worth your time. Bottom line for all this, he named the dog "RD" for road dog. 'Nuff said.

Certainly worth my time, thanks for the laughs. I got my nickname for being in a car club, a play on my name and because I was always on roadtrip caravans with different buddies, traveling 600 miles and more at a time, a lot of it fast and reckless. Not so fast and not so reckless now in my sixties, but the name stuck.

Buck O’Fama is a nice touch. I missed it at the beginning of the vid the first time I watched it. Now even if they grab our guns, they’ll have to pry the printer from our cold dead hands.

Somebody on the anti side screwed with the poll. Ran a bot or just hacked it. Flipping like that with that many votes is extremely improbable

the 95% confidence interval for the original ratio and numbers (646) is ±3.5%. No way on earth the numbers switched like that legitimately.
