A Fourth of July hot dog eating contest in western South Dakota turned deadly when a contestant choked to death.
Walter Eagle Tail, 47, of Custer, died at a hospital Thursday after attempts to save him at the scene failed, Custer County Sheriff Rick Wheeler told the Rapid City Journal.

I am not crazy about clowns either but my fear of choking comes from being an asthmatic when I was a child.... Not being able to breathe is scarier than clowns.

Mine too. I recently overcame a psychological disorder called phagophobia (yes, it’s pronounced fagophobia). It’s a great fear of swallowing, and for several weeks I had trouble swallowing food. I finally went to a doctor for it and he prescribed anti-anxiety medication and I got better. But I will not eat hot dogs. I have heard of too many people either choking or nearly choking on them.

At the Big Texan in Amarillo,,,,,,We recently had a young lady, about 115 lbs wet eat the 72 oz steak in under five minutes. thats a dinner, baked potato, veggies, roll, the steak etc in under five minutes.
but wait ......
she ate a second 72oz steak dinner in under ten minutes. Right after she finished. total of two 72oz steak dinners in under 15 minutes.
its on you tube ...... looked like a friggin anaconda eating a shetland pony.....

I was thinking, if I ever died in a peculiar way, for example, if I was to drink a 12-pack of beer, slather honey all over my self and run naked through the woods, only to get mauled by a bear, I'm betting that people here on Free Republic would post an article about it and it would draw at least 200 pithy replies in the first few hours.
I would like to thank you in advance for all your witty comments with regard to my demise. It was all fun until the bear part. I would not advise anybody to do what I did.
