American Families Are Right To Be Worried About Inflation
The Federalist ^ | July 22, 2014 | Sean Davis

“Americans should stop whining about food prices.”

That was the message AEI’s Mark J. Perry blasted last September to families gullible enough to believe that rising food prices were a problem:

It’s a favorite pastime in this country – Americans love to complain about rising food prices. Even when they aren’t. In fact, given all of the complaining you would never know that average food price inflation in recent years is actually the lowest in several generations. Below are three reasons that Americans should stop whining about food prices, and be a little more appreciative of how affordable food is in the US today, especially when compared to other countries, or when compared to previous decades in US history. Perry’s three reasons for why American families should stop whining were that 1) Americans spend a smaller percentage of their budgets on food than they did 60 years ago, 2) people in other countries spend more of their money on food than we do, and 3) the four-year moving average of food inflation is low.

Many American families are barely scraping by as it is, with very little or no savings whatsoever. I truly believe we are headed for another period from the late 1970s to the mid-1980s, where the Fed raised interest rates drastically to ease inflation. With all the spending on entitlements, I think it will be even harder to curtail spending and subsequent inflation, regardless of what the Fed does. But what do I know, I'm only a historian, not an economist. One thing I know for sure: this is being done by the Left DELIBERATELY, to make us all as reliant on the government as possible. Sadly, many Americans want socialism and could not care less about America and the U.S. Constitution. I hope our country can survive, but I'm increasingly realizing that it is a near certainty that our country is past the point of no return./rwa

This is to protect their man, BHO.
His policies are responsible for rising prices. He is siphoning money away from the working people.

Documented:A couple of personal anecdotes:

* Sargento cubed cheese jumped more than a dollar, from eight something to nine something. I switched to the store's grated generic.

* Diet Rite jumped from $1/liter to $1.38 liter.

Tell me there's no food inflation and I'll call you a liar to your face.

And, of course, the government will never, ever take this into account when calculating entitlement increases.

No, really? It matters that food and household supplies are steadily increasing in cost?

Yes, it does!

A pound of Oscar Mayer sliced meat went up $.50, or 18%, recently.

Mr. Perry can go f himself. I shop and cook for my family of four. I go to the grocery store on the way home from work just about every night. I cook fresh meals, opposed to buy processed foods. Staple items have increased in price. Fish and shellfish has gone through the roof. Forget about buying steak. Veggies are easily 15% to 20% more expensive than a year ago.

Off to make breakfast for dinner ... Corn fritters and omelets with zuchinni, tomatoes, green onions, and red peppers.

Found center cut bacon at the store last night for ONLY $4.99 a pound-one day loss leader unadvertised special. Bought all they had which took my entire week’s grocery budget. Ours has been pushing $7 lately and some brands are $9 a pound. Can’t remember the last time we bought beef.
