Local Couple Wants to Change Middle Names to “Seamonster”

A local couple wants to be called “seamonster.”
According to a legal notice posted in the Holyoke Sun, Melanie Ann Convery and Neal James Coughlin of Holyoke are petitioning the state to let them make both of their middle names “seamonster.”
And as required by state law, that notice was published in a local newspaper and those who may object may file a “written appearance” to the court “on or before” 10:00 a.m. Wednesday.
Hampden County Register of Probate Suzanne Seguin tells ABC40 that as of early Wednesday morning, no objections have been filed. If none are filed by the 10:00 a.m., the matter is then brought before a judge for an administrative action – to approve or deny the request.

Back in the good old days, when people had to struggle to survive and were more concerned about earning a living than renaming themselves with childish names, we didn’t have to deal with this type of nonsense.
