The year 2034, your predictions?

Posted on 08/02/2014 10:28:03 PM PDT by MNDude

It seems that with recent trends in economics, demographics, and morality in this country, there's great reason for much pessimism for the future. In any case, I'm curious to hear your predictions for 20 years from now. The state of USA? The world stage? Technology? Anything else you think it will be like in that year.

History does not repeat, but it is cyclical.

By 2034, America will be on the other side of a great Crisis which has now only dimly shown its true nature. We will be then about 10 years into a High, an era whose nature will be something like it was in America in 1955: a postwar boom, an "era of good feelings." People will by busy building new lives, making babies, and generally trying to forget the unpleasant business of the last few years, a Crisis and War on which so many spent their lives, or had them taken from them in a flash.

As a result of the Crisis, I suspect that America will be broken up into two or more regional countries, at least one of which will still be dying from the radiation left by multiple nuclear strikes. At least one of the regional countries will be a fascist dictatorship. At least one of them will have returned to the pre-16th Amendment Constitution.

A combination of happy and grim: that's how I see America in 2034. We cannot now imagine the changes in American society that will come, just like those in 1955 could not have imagined them in 1935.

If you want more, read the book "The Fourth Turning," although the thoughts above are my own.

Your prediction is closest to mine.

I expect that there are two choices:

(1) we will be a single poor totalitarian country, whether national socialist, soviet socialist, or another indistinguishable brand of totalitarian socialism and all individual rights will be dead, or

(2) more than half of the United States will be a free and prosperous post-CWII country with far more respect for the Bill of Rights (and especially for the Second Amendment) than even the most conservative and patriotic states have today. In this scenario, any states that are not free and prosperous will be separate from the real United States (regardless of which half keeps that name) and suffering from the poverty that they think is cause by bitter clingers in the free states, but that sensible people know is caused by their socialist policies.

The BEST THING about 2034 is that the Baby Boomers will be almost all dead or retired (present company excepted, of course), so they won’t be able to tear up what’s left of the country. I once heard someone compare them to a bad meal, you just have to pass it through your system.

The problems facing this country and especially Europe will be huge. For Europe, I expect Nazi-style round-ups of their Muslims by then. They simply will have to make a choice, either eliminate the problem, or live (maybe) under ISIS-type rule. And they will figure out that they have to act BEFORE the numbers are stacked too badly against them. So expect another purging over there...they may look like cowards today, but their history suggests that they can act when required.

For the US, it will go one of two ways, either we buck-up enough and simply close our southern border to immigration (and somehow get the illegals back home), or we allow ourselves to be repopulated. In both cases the future is quite easy to see: In the first case, the country assimilates the immigrants that are here, they learn English, and they vote majority-Democrat, but not a huge majority - maybe 60-40, or 65-35 at worst. They wind up replacing the FDR Democrats and the union-idiots that both vote Democrat without knowing why and we remain a two-party country. In the second case, we end up like Argentina - a broken multi-ethnic country where every 10 or 20 years we default on debt and clean out any savings that people may have. The vast majority of people live poor (the book 1984 describes how most of us will live, quite well), while the well-skilled make it to lower middle class. The government types and organized crime types are the only ones that get wealthy.

For the rest of the world, China will at least DOUBLE our GNP by then (probably triple), and their military will show it, so we’re done with having any influence in that part of the world. We’ll pull our navy back (hopefully before losing a few carriers to China) and Japan will have to face them alone (and they know that day is coming). China will also be calling the shots in much of the rest of the world. Hopefully they’re nice to us. Assuming the second US scenario, Russia also will be MUCH STRONGER than us, they will have rebuilt their nuke arsenal, along with their navy and, as they show even today, they have NO INTENTION of letting the leftist-mentality get in their way. So they’re set for a strong future.

That’s my predication.

I always tell people, do not underestimate the Caucasian man. We may not have invented genocide, but we sure streamlined it a lot.

“I always tell people, do not underestimate the Caucasian man. We may not have invented genocide, but we sure streamlined it a lot.”

Yea, they are coming around. Parties like UKIP and people like Marine LePen are the first shots. They will slow, maybe stop, immigration, and, most importantly, allow OPEN DEBATE on the issue, rather than simply jailing their opponents, as the present government do. At that point they can start dealing with their internal problems. I expect them to use a citizenship test that requires everyone to trace their roots back to having European ancestors in 1950 or so. If they cannot, then they would be paid to leave peacefully. If they choose not to leave, they will be offered more, and if they still want to stay then they will be rounded up and removed (in some fashion), anyway.

It will be tough on many of them, as they were born in Europe and may not even speak the language of their parents - but they have proven themselves to be every bit as much of a threat to their hosts as their parents (actually, it turns out most of the immigrant-parents were good people, it’s their kids kicking up the dust). So it won’t be fun for them, but there seems to always be enough wars down there to give them something to do to keep busy.

I get a kick out of people who dismiss the French, for example, as cowardly and ineffective.

France is a country of warriors. With the notable exception of World War II, you will not find a more deadly nation of men. This is a country that did THIS:

Ice breakers have cleared a path across the Southern Atlantic ice pack to bring emergency supplies to a frozen Europe.

NASA reports that no Sunspots are observed this month...and that the ice age is expected to continue to the end of the century.

And some good news....the nuclear powered fracking system set up under the ice in the Green River area has come on line...

Initial production is 5 million barrels of oil a day with accompanying gas.

long frozen pipelines and refineries have been reactivated.

Forecasts of 3 Trillion barrels of oil from 2014 have been widely underestimated as a second formation has been located under the Green River Formation.

It’s hard to for people to put themselves in the position of the French going into WW2. They got CLOBBERED in WW1 and were still trying to recover from that. They were simply exhausted going into WW2...it was not a great situation for them to be in.

Phase 10 of the Marvel Cinematic Universe should be in full swing, and hopefully I’ll have retired and finally have the time to read I want. It’ll be great... you know except for the parts that suck, cause that’s life.
