Emma Watson Delivers Passionate UN Speech On Gender Equality
ETOnline ^ | September 21, 2014

Emma Watson is taking the fight for feminism to the frontlines, delivering a powerful message to the men of the world to take up the struggle for gender equality.

Watson, who was appointed to the role of the UN Women Goodwill Ambassador earlier this year, delivered a speech on the floor of the UN to launch the new HeForShe initiative, which advocates for total equality without the use of negative rhetoric and for getting men to join the political and social battle. "We want to end gender inequality," Watson told the assembly. "And to do this, we need everyone involved… We want to try and galvanize as many men and boys as possible to be advocates for change."

Watson went on to argue that feminism is about equality, not separation, and without everyone fighting for change, change may not be possible.

"The more I have spoken about feminism, the more I have realized that fighting for women's rights has too often become synonymous with man-hating," Watson said. "If there is one thing I know for certain, it is that this has to stop. For the record, feminism by definition is the belief that men and women should have equal rights and opportunities. It is the theory of the political, economic and social equality of the sexes."

I have nothing against Emma Watson.

But what is blaringly missing is ISLAM!!! Is there anything more brutal to woman the Islam? Not that I can think of. Nearly every other culture on earth reveres women as wives, mothers, sisters, and daughters. Islam generally sees woman as mere chattel.

“I have realized that fighting for women’s rights has too often become synonymous with man-hating,” Watson said. “If there is one thing I know for certain, it is that this has to stop.” — on both sides.

To Emma Watson:

I am not womanish, and a female is not me. We are different, and we are not equal, and never will be. Stay out of my man things, and I will stay out of yours. God made it so, from the beginning. It's not going to change.

Let it be, people.

From the western liberal feminist point of view, there is no problem with 650 million women slaves in the islamic world, no problem with female circumcision in the islamic world, no problem with honor killings in the islamic world, no problem with forced bee-keeper suits for women in the islamic world, no problem with severe restrictions on careers and education of women in the islamic world, no problem with severe restrictions on physical movement (walking around by themselves, driving, etc) of women in the islamic world...

BUT...

In the Western World, the thought of a woman having to pay the $10/month for birth control pills out of her own pocket...

OMG!

That is a War on Women!

Sorry, I left out:

The liberals have no problem with forced marriage of young girls to old men so prevalent in the islamic world.

So glad Emma could manage the time to share her insights between her endless glamour photo-shoots.

How generous of her. Her willingness to condemn 650 million women to perpetual slavery. What a liberal attitude.

There are also western girls and women who willingly convert to islam, happy to wear the burka, etc.. and some even gone to Syria to live in the islamic state. Not saying they’re feminists but they’re western women. As for “western feminism” it’s mostly rubbish & worlds apart from those who are active in islamic countries.

Western women who convert are true believers who sacrifice self for the cause. They also believe they will be honored for that sacrifice. They won’t be. They are also most certainly mentally disturbed at some deep level.

There will never be equality, because men and women are not the same.

However, these mental midgets don’t know what “equal” means. “equal” means the same, or equivalent.

The scenario of the terrified woman putting up with an abusive man comes to mind.

If the modern feminist movement were interested in genuine equality it would focus its efforts on actual oppression: child brides, sex slavery, female genital mutilation, etc. But, no, it’s topless rallies against calling women “sluts.” It’s declaring that women are just as capable as men and then expecting men to continue to do all the actual heavy lifting. It’s angry and impassioned cries for a woman’s natural right to kill their unborn babies if they decide they’re too busy to raise them or don’t want to date the father any longer. And it’s reasoning that any time a woman wakes up and regrets having sex then she was raped and the man she enthusiastically slept with must be brought to justice.

The average feminist truly believes they are striving for equality but modern feminism is not about equality; It’s a first world female supremacy movement. Oh, they can chant “equality” until the cows come home but at the end of the day for what are they actually striving? A world where women never experience a negative consequence, have no personal responsibility, and where every first world male is considered a potential villain - even 5-year-old boys.

"...We want to end gender inequality..."

But, but...'gender' is a social construct unrelated to the sex of the individual!

Gender equity.....So she thinks the whole Ray Rice issue is overblown? If he had punched a drunk MAN that spit on him and hit him first we wouldn't still be talking about it.

I happen to think what Rice did was worse because he hit a woman but its hypocritical for the gender equity crowd to do so.
