VIDEO: Corinna Pit Bulls Attack Neighbor Dog ( Maine )
WABI TV5. ^ | September 29th, 2014 | Adrienne DiPiazza

Corinna Caron says she wasn’t home Friday night when security cameras captured five pit bulls mauling her basset hound, Elvis.

“When we got here, they had Elvis in the garage. His ears were bleeding, his neck was bleeding,” Caron said Monday.

Neighbors across the street and next door came running when they heard the commotion. One of the pit bulls was shot and killed.

“If they hadn’t been here, we wouldn’t have Elvis. There’s no doubt in my mind that Elvis wouldn’t have survived that attack,” she said.

It’s not Elvis’ first encounter with the dogs. We’re told they’ve gone after other animals and even chased children.

“When you have to teach your kids what do you do, you roll into a ball and cover your neck if a dog comes after you, that’s no way to live.”

Nearly everyone along this street has been dealing with the problem for years. Neighbors wouldn’t speak on camera to TV5 because they say they fear retaliation.

The town manager says the problem has gone on too long.

“The owner of the home where the dogs are located would not comment.”

Who is this owner that is so intimidating that no one will deal with the problem? Sounds like an epidemic of cowardice in this town.

Does anybody know how to write a headline that actually reflects the story?

Is Corinna the name of a town, or the name of a person?

From the story Corinna seems to be the name of a person. Is she so famous that she goes by one name, like Cher? Normal journalistic style would have her identified by her last name.

Did Corinna OWN the pit bulls and they attacked her neighbor as the headline suggests? But, wait, the story says that Corinna owned the victim dog.

The “owner” needs a month in the county jail.

Since there’s no apostrophe after neighbor I thought the dog’s owner wrote the headline. “It be da neighbor dog” as in “He be my baby daddy.”

Then why: “Corinna Caron says she wasn’t home Friday night”. Is the lady named after the town?

I believe it’s the name of the town.

A friend of ours is interested in getting a pit bull, she still hasn’t explained why. I told her I would miss going over there.

The owner needs to be staked out in their own yard with pork chops hung around his neck and then allow their pit bulls to come out and play.

To: george76; All

After going to my grandparents farm on a Sunday afternoon, when I was 4-1/2 - 5 years old while playing with my cousins, a year or two older, that lived with my grandparents. We were playing a bit excitedly. From behind the pit bull I pushed on it’s rump and the next thing I knew it was astride me and my Grandmother was calling the dog off me.

We had to drive 40 plus miles to the hospital. Mother held a pan under my face and pressed it to slow the blood. The left side of my face was torn open from hairline to chin and my ear was torn halfway off with a few other deep single tooth marks on my face. It easily could have been much worse. today it is barely noticeable.

The Doctor had to come to the hospital from the golf course, Duncan, Oklahoma. God have mercy on his soul.

It was my mistake that the dog attacked me. It barely knew me. Dumb action of a child. It healed well thanks to excellent stitches. Over time the scar has faded outwardly. There is an internal scar, strong and ever there.

Children and dogs should not be left together without an adult being there. MO

I have a miniature poodle, and had two before this one. Great dogs. Do well indoors.

To this day I fear any aggressive acting dog. Terrorizing is how it feels.

Pit bulls are an dangerous breed, when compared to other dogs. They may be wonderful guard dogs .
