Why does the CDC own a patent on Ebola invention?

Eeeee-bolllll-aaaaaa ping!
Bring Out Your Dead
Were gonna need
a bigger cart!
Post to me or FReep mail to be on/off the Bring Out Your Dead ping list.
The purpose of the Bring Out Your Dead ping list (formerly the Ebola ping list) is very early warning of emerging pandemics, as such it has a high false positive rate.
So far the false positive rate is 100%.
At some point we may well have a high mortality pandemic, and likely as not the Bring Out Your Dead threads will miss the beginning entirely.
*sigh* Such is life, and death...
It maybe time to break out the gloves and masks like the Japanese when you shop for groceries and other necessities!
The carts are nasty sources for picking up all sorts of crap left by previous shoppers and the air is contaminated with airborne viruses and contagions from sickly customers.
I see customers handle food products and put them back on the shelves all the time. Any ideas on how to de-contaminate produce, food cans, and other products you purchase and bring home?
And don’t forget to de-contaminate your shoes before re-entering home after the shopping trip.
Where are those who accused you of ‘fearmongering’ and ‘hysteria’?
Even funnier is the fact that for those of us who can stay isolated from all other human contact for months can sit back and laugh at you alarmists no matter what comes to pass.
However, considering the asinine posts I’ve seen from you concerning Ebola over the last 2 months, I see that you really have a significant detachment from reality, but that’s just my opinion.
Regarding the headline - How is this confirmed, when the test results are not ready until Tues. Morning.
It’s still a good idea to prepare of course, though I am not optomistic about survival in the home, if someone has it and for some reason can’t get to the hospital.
Self quarantine in place for months has better odds, so I’d say prep for that first and foremost, if you have limited resources.
I will meantion that I saw a pandemic flu kit on Amazon for around 25 bucks for a family of four, and with the current virus spreading and flu season coming up, that’s not a bad thing to have on hand for sure. It has the N95 masks, nitrile gloves and lots of other stuff.

What I’m doing right now is adding more bleach to tomorrow’s grocery list to drench in after wading through all the “I’m immune to third world diseases” posts.
I don’t mean to rain on the panic party here, but in the 3rd world countries where Ebola has spread, most everyone is STILL alive. Sure, it has killed a few thousand, but I’m sure they lose just as many people to the Flu every year.
Not trying to totally minimize this, as it COULD get very bad, especially if it mutates. Just keep things in perspective before you ‘bug-in’, seal off your home, and hunker down inside it for months.
Oh, this is terrible! It will be just like 2008 when that woman showed up in Colorado with Marburg and the entire state of Colorado died a horrible bloody death! It’s a good thing we were able to use the National Guard to keep anyone from escaping from Colorado and spreading that disease to the other states. /s
Link to MMWR article discussing the Marburg case: http://www.cdc.gov/mmwr/preview/mmwrhtml/mm5849a2.htm
For those that don’t know, Marburg is cousin to Ebola, and causes an almost identical disease, with a comparable death rate. When the Marburg case showed up, no one even knew it was Marburg until 6 months after the patient was discharged. She asked to be retested after hearing of a fatal Marburg case in a Dutch person who had visited the same cave she had visited, and was then diagnosed. Yet, despite that lack of diagnosis at the time of illness, not a single person caught Marburg from that woman. That is because our health system has protocols in place to contain infectious diseases, even those weird imported exotic diseases.
This Ebola patient was staying with relatives, and was symptomatic for 4 days before being admitted to the hospital. The only people who are in some danger of catching Ebola are those relatives, and they are being watched now.
Those little pandemic kits won’t work for Ebola—it’s spread by direct contact, not aerosol—but they will help avoid the flu. May I remind everyone that flu is a killer—an average of 16,000 people die from it every year—and flu season is on its way?
I can’t understand why commercial flights out of the affected countries.
Most of my medical “cleanness” preps are at my other house, hundreds of miles away. I was planning on getting “clean” preps for flu in case one of us got that, so I ordered those items this morning. Ebola is in body fluids and doesn't travel in the air. However, saliva is a body fluid so the patient should not be close enough to cough and fluid travel to the caretaker due to that cough.
What did I get?
Some N95 masks with clear plastic eye/facial cover attached. The clear plastic will keep fluids off the face/eye area. Don't see a need for better masks for Ebola due to it not being transferred in air. I do have some better respirator type masks that would be helpful to limit flu transmission.
If you suspect a family member has Ebola, call 911 to get that person immediately to isolation in a hospital. You would not try to care for that person in your house.
New medical exam gloves in medium (for me)and extra large (he has large hands).
Body covers. These are tissue thin to wear over clothes while caring for a patient and then stripping them off in the trash after wearing. Any fluid would go in the trash and not be on you.
If you fly, DO NOT USE THE FIRST BATHROOM YOU SEE WHEN YOU GET OFF THE PLANE. I have seen and done this behavior for years when I was flying around the world. Most people hate the bathrooms on a plane and may be forced to use one under duress, HOWEVER, when passengers get off the plane, they head TO THE FIRST BATHROOM they see. A person sick with Ebola will also go there and everywhere they leave fluid that was on their hands or on something they placed on a surface, some of their fluid is going to be there somewhere when they walk out.
Don't go to the first bathroom you see. Continue on and use a bathroom away from the debarkation area.
I topped off my pandemic stock this morning early by buying 90% alcohol, bleach and some nitrile gloves.
I'm ready to close the gates an hibernate if necessary.
The lib tards will be right behind the illegals running wild and grabbing and looting all they can get to survive.
