Life on Europa?

For the past several centuries everyone believed that Mars was the most likely body in our solar system to support life beyond Earth. But, after centuries of telescope observation, decades of spacecraft exploration and several robots exploring its surface the promise of discovering life on Mars remains elusive.
Now, scientific attention is being focused on Europa, the fourth largest of Jupiter's 67 confirmed moons. It may be an even better candidate for finding life than Mars. For life to be present the three basic requirements are: 1) liquid water; 2) chemical building blocks; and, 3) a source of energy. Europa is thought to have all three.

Not sure about life in Europa, but in Europe, the Islamofascists have taken over.

It is too far from sun, and extremely cold to support any higher forms of life.

We’ve already been warned not to attempt any landings there.

It has liquid water, so it’s getting enough heat from its proximity to Jupiter’s tidal forces.
As for light, doesn’t really need it as most of the life on our ocean floors prove.
As for how advanced it is... Dunno. How about we go take a look?

I look forward to visiting Europe. Now that the Euro is almost equal to the dollar, I might be able to afford it too.

At the speed of light its like a 30 minute commute or so. That’s not really so bad.

I think we’ll find lots of life in our solar system if we ever get beyond scratching the surface.

The life would be essentially in Europa’s mantle, heated by pressure and gravitational forces from Jupiter. It would be an indication of abiogenesis as many of the possible chemical combinations that are thought to have lead to life on Earth are present there also.

I had no idea tidal forces on Jupiter could create heat on it’s satellite. Can you explain that? Thanks.

Now would be a good time to go, the Europa is
down against the dollar. Anyway I hear it’s
nice this time of year, Putin just got back
and you can see how it agreed with him.

Maybe when we quit making muslims feel good about themselves and get back into the spaceflight business, we can get back to innovation.

Its kind of like the heat created when you take a metal coat hanger and bend it back and forth to the point of breaking. The flexing caused by the gravity of the planet and other moons can create considerable heat.

Good evening.
3) a source of energy. Europa is thought to have all three.
Energy? The sun is a long ways away, and geothermal, and methane need to be harvested.
Am I wrong?
