A glimpse with rare video and photos of how people traveled in a bygone era. If the Olympic looks familiar, it is because she was the nearly identical sister ship of the Titanic.

Both had rather leaky hulls.
Really? I never heard that.
The hulls leaked only after being punctured by foreign objects.
And fastest ship on the Atlantic for 20 years, and name-checked by Rudyard Kipling
However, I did notice that you got the "RMS" designation correct. Many people erroneously refer to them as "HMS," which designates a military vessel. "Titanic" was a Royal Mail Steamer (or Steamship): RMS.
I went to a Titanic museum in Vegas a few years ago. Even the 3rd class passengers were dressed in dresses and suits and ties. Now today, anything goes on cruises...
The same thing happened to flying as well. Travel is essentially like a city bus these days.
“Travel is essentially like a city bus these days.”
Or worse, the subway.
This one blows my mind: Titanic compared to a modern cruise liner
interesting comparison
The Olympic was in service for almost 35 years and was known as “Old Reliable” as she never suffered a mechanical breakdown leaky hulls? Don’t think so
Well, the hull can leak when you run over cruisers or lightships.
There is that of course. It is worth noting that the hull plates were riveted not welded which came later. Eventually you do get cracking as the ships age but as I noted 35 years in North Atlantic service which is rough duty
Upon some reading I see that Olympic ran over and sank a U-boat and that she was later found to have been struck by a dud torpedo at some time.
