An Egyptian television anchor has come under fire for mistaking what appears to be video game footage for Russian airstrikes against ISIS.
Talk show host Ahmed Moussa aired video during his show praising Russia for what he said were Russian airstrikes in Syria. But the footage used was originally uploaded to YouTube in 2010 under the category of "Gaming," and looks to be from a video game.

Obama’s going.....I knew that...
Moussa, a well known, controversial talk show host, says while the video game footage airs, “See what the Russians are doing to them! That precision! Look at that car! Wait for the missile to come down! No one gets away,” according to the blog Egyptian Streets. In the footage, English, as opposed to Russian, is spoken.
Moussa comments on his show that the United States has been playing with terrorists, while Russia does not joke around. And according to Egyptian Streets he also adds, “These are ISIS fighters ... they’re immediately wiped out ... no one gets away.”
Need some screen shots of this. Whatta guy! He has a bright future at CNN/NBC/ABC/CBS.
And like that Soviet tv news anchor reporting that Reagan was invading Granada, Spain, instead of the Caribbean Island nation of Grenada. With a map of Spain, too...
Just like the “Proof” of Russian Intervention with Artillery” in Ukraine was from a Video game, as well.
Actually a very easy mistake to make. Having watched it I’d be hard pressed to tell the difference between that video game footage and the FLIR videos on YouTube from our operations in Afghanistan and Iraq.
Forget it, he’s rolling.
Indeed. Looks like Ahmed Moussa just had his Dan Rather moment.
In all fairness, has anyone seen a video game lately? Some of that stuff looks amazing.
Haha, I was stationed in Spain at that time, at a base not far from Granada! I know for a fact that Granada was not attacked...
