A new war memorial will have no names inscribed on it in case errors are included.
The new installation will commemorate 40 soldiers from Tidworth, Wiltshire, who have died in battle since 1914.
Chris Franklin, town mayor, said the memorial committee's decision to "omit the names" seemed to be "purely based on it being too much of a risk".

That was funny. And I’d like to laugh, but it is too sad.
Leftists belong in cages.
“Tomb Of The Who The Hell Knows Soldier”
Oh, good gravy. If it turns out there’s a mistake, just fix it.
Apparently it didn’t dawn on them that later on they could just add the name of anyone they overlook.
They way it is done at the Vietnam Veterans Memorial wall.
These people are the cultural heirs of that cigar guy? Really?

Even though large tracts of some continent or another and many old and famous places have fallen or may fall into the grip of the other guys and all the odious apparatus of that other rule, we shall not flag or fail.
We shall go on to the end, we shall fight in that wine country,
we shall fight on the big wet places and bigger wet places,
we shall fight with growing confidence and growing strength in the really high places, we shall defend our surrounded by wet place, whatever the cost may be,
we shall fight on the sandy spots,
we shall fight on the level spots,
we shall fight in the grassy spots and in the paved spots,
we shall fight in the high places;
we shall never surrender, and even if, which I do not for a moment believe, this place or a large part of it were subjugated and starving, then our other places beyond the wet places, armed and guarded by the gray floating places, would carry on the struggle, until, in God’s good time, the across the pond places, with all their power and might, steps forth to the rescue and the liberation of the old.

It’s pathetic. Making a mistake would be embarrassing, so you do it right. Backing off like sissies and saying nothing so you don’t miss something means missing everything, the worst of all possible options.
adding the names later would be a "bit of a damp squib".
More likely because all of the names are politically incorrect John, George, William, David, Adam, Charles, etc.
Mohammed?
Cant offend the muslims.
“Apparently it didnât dawn on them that later on they could just add the name of anyone they overlook.”

But Mr Franklin said “quite a bit of research” had already been done and adding the names later would be a “bit of a damp squib”.
Not even an explanatory plaque?
The “mistakes” concern could have been easily met with a system of plaques that could be replaced for the sake of corrections, though attached in a tamperproof manner. The silly display even looks vaguely crescent like. I hope President Trump or President Cruz has something more suitable put up.
You can’t leave some space to add names if it becomes necessary?
If you DO want to “offend the muslims” (a goal with which I heartily concur) you won’t succeed in doing that with some secular theory. To them, secular is wonderful. It means less power of capital-G God (of Old and New Testaments, not the Allah of Koran which is a hellish distortion and saga of a violent, sexually molesting mad man) that could rise up against them.
Not that, nor Dubaku, nor Sanjeev, nor Elizabeth, nor Susan, etc, etc.
Even a plaque that acknowledges there could be more, would be better than this chicken move.
I want liberals put in cages. All of them. I don’t care what they point their ass in the air over.
