(f) Suspension of entry or imposition of restrictions by President

Whenever the President finds that the entry of any aliens or of any class of aliens into the United States would be detrimental to the interests of the United States, he may by proclamation, and for such period as he shall deem necessary, suspend the entry of all aliens or any class of aliens as immigrants or nonimmigrants, or impose on the entry of aliens any restrictions he may deem to be appropriate.

Yes. We can immediately ban all immigration to and from majority-muzzy countries. Saudi Arabia must be on the list.

Yes, and he could shut off all immigration for his duration in office if he chose to do so.

Thank you, Lazamatz. I hope it gets read and shared - I just found it, and the credit goes to the poster at Conservative Treehouse.

I wish we could find a way to deport Muslims who are already here, as 25% believe it is desirable to kill us, and 50% want to establish Sharia law. This is from a couple of polls, which could be questioned, of course, considering how unreliable polling is these days.

But, how could we deport someone like the murdering male in San Bernadino, who was born here?

Is there any historical precedent for dealing with traitors within, other than jailing them?

Muslims not being allowed into America until.....

the key word there is "UNTIL", not forever, but UNTIL, that's what they want to ignore, on purpose.

The government controlled lying media and talking heads are all out for Trump....but not only did Trump lay this bomb at the feet of Americans last night, he was warning us that another 9/11 might happen if we don’t do something now...

Course no one will understand that until that happens....this cell in San Bernadino is not over yet, they are laying low or moving to join in another cell and then they will attack, that’s their M.O.

What about when the president’s political agenda is detrimental to the interests of the country?

Laz, here’s a conversation on this topic from yesterday’s James. T. Harris conservative radio show in Tucson with constitutional scholar James Utsch.

If Trump’s policy was in place 15 years ago there would’ve been no 9/11, Boston Marathon bombing or San Bernardino shooting.

I do not see any benefit to any immigration at the moment of any kind. The job market sucks, our entitlement system is going to drag us all down, and the country needs time to figure things out.

I do not believe immigration is a legal or moral right to non-citizens. It is frightening that we must remind everyone including lawmakers that these are NOT U.S. citizens. We have to look our for our own interests first yet the priest of political correctness have made such a statement xenophobic despite the majority of Americans agreeing with what I just wrote.

I support immigration of the best and brightest, but what we have seen with recent immigration trends is not what we require for the short or long term health of our nation. I have an appreciation for what immigration did for our country, but we need people who will assimilate, will make us better, and who love our country, culture, and freedoms. If they do not meet that definition we do not have to accept them on the whims of ANY politician.

I just promoted Trumps idea without mentioning religion.

I am starting to figure Trump out and suspect that his goal is what I said above. It encompasses his most effective message and it allows people to read into it what they are thinking without stepping into the minefield that is exploding in the media and on the campaign trail right now. However, Trump is not a politician and he has his own strategy that is quite unconventional. He is using the principles of negotiation that have made him what he is today to shoot for 100 yards when all he wants or expects is 50 yards. As a bonus he sucks all the air out of the room with his bombastic declaration and dominates another news cycle. It is a path of high risk and high reward. Will it work? I do not know because I have nothing to compare it to. Time will tell if he is far more brilliant than we realize or if he is the bombastic cartoon character he is portrayed as by the media.

Buckle your seatbelts.......

Trump is certainly feared by the media, the self-described “conservative” talking heads and the professional politicians, but he has captured the hearts and minds of American citizens who, besides fearing justifiably for the safety of their families and property and who are desperate for a leader who puts America first, are thoroughly enjoying Trump’s manhandling and persistent out-maneuvering of his enemies on the Right as much as on the Left.

In regards to the Japan/Islam graphic, Politifact doesn't agree.

Politifact cites only part of the law and doesn’t cover the practical application of it. What is considered moral behavior under the law is applied as “no muslims”.

We can not deport a U.S. citizen. We must not allow radical Islam to destroy our constitution and our rights. This is the difficult situation we face.

As to your second question - there are laws on the book for sedition. The risk is that you implement those laws against those who promote or ascribe to radical Islam and another administration like this one comes to power and implements those laws against Christians who have religious beliefs that are not politically correct. If we deport them today they may seek to deport us tomorrow and there is no legal basis to deport citizens.

Shariah law is incompatible with our constitution, laws, and culture. That is something most Americans agree with so it is the obviously a place to start, but everything after that is risky business if government is empowered with additional tools to target groups. We must preserve our freedoms at the same time we preserve our security - a difficult proposition indeed.

Except the part (which may have been erroneously off the cuff from the spokesman) about denying re-entry to US citizens.
