Ammon Bundy recorded a message from jail for his lawyer Mike Arnold, who worked to get it to David Fry, last Thursday
A number of people were sent the message including the livestream coordinator Gavin Seim, who found it in his 'inbox' and was ready to play it to Fry, but Fry received it on an FBI phone in the background of Thursday's livestream.
Seim posted a new video yesterday telling the story of what happened last Thursday to include the recorded message from Ammon Bundy that was played to David Fry during the quiet moments when Fry was hesitating to walk out and threatening suicide.
Gavin Seim said he wanted to 'correct misconceptions' reminding his viewers 'the FBI did not negotiate this out, the FBI from the very beginning were the criminals in all this, the FBI assassinated LaVoy Finicum, the FBI surrounded these guys (the final four on Wednesday Feb. 10th) and were trying not to negotiate but to instigate violence..."
Seim went on to to reiterate the point he's made in other videos that the massively viewed livestream last Wednesday deterred the FBI from killing the four people.
He also said that events went calmly on Thursday because the world was watching along with public figures like Franklin Graham and Nevada Assemblywoman Michele Fiore preventing the FBI from initiating violence.
The Ammon Bundy message played to David Fry last Thursday included this:
"David this is Ammon Bundy um I want you to know that there is a future out here uh and you have a future you've been valiant in your stand for your country and for your rights and that uh that your actions here really matter that we love you and yeah it will not be easy at first but we know that the American people are going to stand with us, they're going to stand for your rights, for my rights and that we're going to get this thing straightened out and that you need to be part of this even though it might be difficult for you for a few weeks um but we want you to be part of this we know you have been valiant in your stand and we ask you to, to, do not take your life and to come here and lets work this together and we know the American people are going to stand and make this right...."
So in the end it was Ammon Bundy who 'ended the occupation' with his recorded message.
An Oregon state legislator, Democrat Rep. Jeff Barker has fast-tracked legislation allowing courts to bar public disclosure of an officer who uses deadly force for 90 days.
Barker originally wanted a six month ban but he backed down when the American Civil Liberties Union said it would oppose it. The ACLU is neutral on this 90 day ban.
Barker introduced the legislation at the request of the Oregon State Police, fearful for the safety of the OSP officer who killed LaVoy Finicum at a roadblock they set up in front of the pursuing FBI Hostage Rescue Team on January 26th.
The bill was unanimously approved last Thursday in committee and now goes to the full State House.
When a SWAT team swooped down on Cliven Bundy and arrested him last Wednesday night, the arrest was with the 2014 confrontation at Bundy's Nevada ranch in mind.
Bundy was able to get the Bureau of Land Management agents to retreat and return hundreds of head of cattle they had impounded. He had the help of hundreds of people, many of them militia.
The Associated Press reports that more arrests are expected citing the criminal complaint against Cliven Bundy referring to at least four unnamed co-conspirators.
The complaint accuses the elder Bundy of directing the four and 'more than 200 followers' to impede the federal agents and their cowboys in the standoff.
And speaking of Nevada and Nevada issues like federal control of grazing land etc. etc. the political candidates will be looking for support in the Nevada Caucuses one week from today, February 23rd. Will any of them raise their voices about these matters?
So far there seems to be a deafening silence.

Do you have any opinion on the substance of the protest in Oregon and what has transpired? Perhaps that will explain your hostility to the posts.
This incident points up the fact that the American people are in a precarious position. We no longer have access to any trustworthy news sources. Had it not been for Gavin’s quick thinking and bravery in letting the nation hear this in real time we would have known little of the truth; perhaps none of it.
It’s time for all Americans to be aware of what’s going on around them and to do their duty in letting the public know.
In time, they may be saving themselves from the same fate as others are enduring with no one the wiser. We are suffering the consequences of listening to false watchmen. From now on, let the watchmen be American patriots.
