Are you that uninformed as to not see what I was saying?

Please explain why you brought up Hillary Clinton, because I'd like to understand how bringing up her abuse of campaign finance laws makes any sense. Truly, I'm not trying to be a jerk, I really would like a non-emotional response to this question.

I wish Carson had been there last night to be honest with you.

You see, people will want to figure out the worst way to look at anything.

They sound more like liberals than conservatives, don't they?

I’m trying to remember, so much has transpired in the last several months. Did he say he would not take a salary from Uncle Sam if elected? If so, nothing wrong with socking away something personally now.

Blame the IRS and, even more, a cornucopia of such wonderfully benevolent tax laws for these convoluted financial exercises that high money figures must go through. Some acceptable reason has to be proffered for a money flow or terribly large fees can be dinged.

Proves again that Mr. Trump is a business genius of the first order. Go Donald!

Sounds like something that is highly incentivized by tax law. Derive your pay the wrong way under US tax law as a high dollar person, and you get unmercifully penalized.

I am shocked I tell you, just shocked!!! How can a business person get away with eating at his own establishments and holding events at places that he owns? We can't let him get away with charging these expenses to his campaign that he is paying for himself. Someday he may use campaign contributions to pay for these expenses. Terrible, just terrible!

Donations from other will be used to retire that debt, and Trump then keeps the profit. In effect, he has done a leveraged buyout on his campaign with handsome returns expected."""...

So on that Debt he will be paying what % interest rate? And ins't his own money contribution tax deductible? Then if he gets the nomination he will get Fed Campaign money and that will eliminate the personal debt as well.

Man, he's as good as Hillary.

Did you understand the headline? ‘Donald Trump is Paying himself to run for President’....meaning he is ‘self-funding’ buying his own jet fuel; paying his workers; renting venues for rallies; paying for their room and board and meals while traveling....understand now how self funding works?

Hillary on the other hand has super packs, special interest groups that are SUPPOST to be paying for all this stuff she does, and she pays herself 250,000.00 dollars from the campaign, she is NOT SELF FUNDING!!!

It's called ‘comparison’ of the two candidates, she is after all the one we are trying to knock out of the elections right? So I used her as a ‘comparison’ to show how crooked she is....

>> every candidate has done this since the dawn of time <<

What? I thought Mr. Trump was supposed to be different from all the rest, that he didn’t indulge in the typical politicians’ tricky practices.

But now you tell me he’s basically the same as every other candidate?

Sigh. . . .

If Ted Cruz is such a legal expert why isn’t he hammering Trump on this subject instead of foolish claims of mob ties or KKK support.

Trump isn’t like every other candidate. He’s actually had a real job. In the real world.

Man, he's as good as Hillary.

Yeah, he's just like Hillary. Just like Hillary using her own personal fortune given to her fair and square by special interests and lobbyists for her speeches that were oh so special and insightful. Why, she is the smartest and most insightful person on the planet. She is a rock star, that is why she and Bill were paid $153 Million in speaking fees. Trump probably paid himself $153 Million for making speeches also and charged it to his campaign. You geniuses ought to be digging into that. Then you would really have him.

Did you understand the headline?

OK, think I got your point. Now, did you understand the bit in my comment about how Trump will end up using donated money (i.e. not his) to retire the debt from the loan he wrote himself? So he won't actually end up out a single dollar?

Instead, he'll have the profits generated by the money paid to his own business. In other words, his run for President of the United States is another business deal that just might pay off with him sitting in the Oval Office?

Note - I think this is brilliant. But if many of the folks who support him understood this, they might then ask themselves if Trump is doing what business folks do - run a marketing campaign that promises the customer the world and a bag of chips.

There's a reason I don't trust marketing...

>> He is spending money that will be repaid to him. That is not self funding <<

Trumpistas will never acknowledge the point, whether or not they are capable of understanding it. Move along. Nothing to see here.

Self-Funding Now, Self-Funding Tomorrow, Self-Funding Forever!

So Trump is basically leasing his planes to himself. There is no profit back to Trump on any of this. Those planes are expensive to run and maintain. As for the rest of it, well he does live at Trump Towers so why not eat at the restaurants there. He probably has his small campaign staff, security and secret service eat there also.””’

As a life-long bookkeeper, I will take a different direction on this topic:

Trump runs many businesses. I would think he gets a salary from each of them, if nothing else as a ‘consultant’.

I would think that the costs of running his plane for business is divvied up to what ever business work he does on any particular trip.

I would think that the campaign MUST pay him a larger amount of the whole now, because the IRS could challenge him & say——”HOW can you be materially involved in all those other businesses when you are campaigning all over the country?” Serious question.

IF he loaned the campaign the money, he can get paid back if & when there MAY be enough donations to do so. However, I seriously don’t think there is more than 5-7% of the cost of his campaigning coming from outside his own money. Therefore, Donald is funding his own campaign in the eyes of the accounting rules.

He has stated many times that he WAITED until his family members were grown up & could run the businesses in his absence BEFORE he ran for office. I believe him. He could have done this 8 years ago.

I would believe that there is a serious number of bookkeepers & accountants working behind the scenes to keep track of every minute of every day in Trumps’ life so that his efforts on the behalf of any of his companies & his campaign don’t get mixed up. This is easily done IF proper accounting techniques are set up in advance of the campaign. Trump is no dummy——he already gets multiple audits a year from Obama’s IRS. He has the best accountants & tax lawyers available to him. Even a small business bookkeeper like me would be proud to work for Mr. Trump.

I would be willing to bet that his records are squeaky clean compared to any of 15 large businesses in the USA.

You are incorrect. He has not stepped away from his business interest nor is he required to at this point. If he is elected President then he is required to step away.

Of course. Again and again, we find that two wrongs make a right for cult members.

Welcome to the New World of Trumpistic Logic.
