Will that put them in the record book for “most killed in a crash” if one goes down?

I have always had terrible luck with United. Had a 12 hour one-stop flight back from London turn into 47 hours and they still lost my luggage. I could probably come up with about four bad experiences on shorter flights with them.

Why is this surprising? Unless airlines make standard coach seats as unbearable as possible then what incentive do you have to upgrade to the somewhat more expensive, slightly less tortuous “premium” seats?
To: C19fan
And another thing. They already don’t have enough overhead bin space. This is just going to make it worse.

I flew on a 777 with AA 4 times coming back and forth from Japan in 2013, and they were uncomfortable, I am still amazed how I managed to knock out on the flight back to Texas one time.

Wouldn't something like this work?

As long as price is the only criteria people use to buy tickets this will continue.

Fly First Class or don't fly. Business Class in a pinch if that's the best they can offer.
I'll tolerate an hour flight in economy, that's all. Anything more and it's First Class or forget it.
I've lost track of the number of times that I hear some commotion going on back in coach because the steerage class people jammed in together on top of each other like sardines lose their composure.

I wonder if they redid the emergency exit test with the new seating?
