UN paints bleak picture of stagnating world economy

The report blames a host of factors for this year's lackluster economic prospects including persistent weak demand in the major economies which remains a drag on global growth, the low price of oil and other commodities which are hurting exporting countries, severe weather-related shocks especially severe drought related to El Nino, political challenges, and large capital outflows in many developing regions.

Dawn Holland, a senior economist in the U.N. Department of Economic and Social Affairs, said the 2.4 percent growth predicted for this year is 1 percent lower than the average annual rate of growth of 3.4 percent in the decade leading up to the global financial crisis in 2008 and 2009. It reflects the weak global economy for most of the last decade, she said.

For 2017, Monteil said, "the global economy is projected to expand by 2.8 percent, marking a very modest improvement — and possibly reflecting the downturn bottoming out in some emerging economies."

But he stressed that for the world economy to grow it needs increased investment and greater fiscal stimulus coordinated by the major economies who have relied for too long only on monetary stimulus like interest rates.

It sounds like world socialism/Marxism isn’t working out, AGAIN. You really do run out of “other people’s money”. Especially when you have more takers than givers. The “free stuffers” tend to become an overwhelming burden on society.

It is because of all the racist and government haters who support Trump. That’s why. Obama did a supremely excellent job of turning around W’s effups and was just coming out of the dark and then, BAM!, that goddam Trump comes on scene.

That Muslim hater, that Mexican hater, that Lesbian, Gay, whatever hater....it’s all because of him.

The world is going to shit because of Trump.

Let me guess. The UN has the "solution" - a one world economy where cash is removed to "get rid of "crime" where credits are exchanged for services but to ensure that they are not counterfeit credits and an infallible identification system that is implanted at birth and can only be read by government scanners, right? A system that will be regulated and overseen by a UN computer not men to reduce the potential for corruption, right?

Tell me I'm wrong. The NWO Satanists are foaming at the mouth waiting for the UN to step it up, only they're waiting for the Muslim Manchurian Mulatto to finish off the world police first who could resist and stop them from carrying their sinister plans out.

The only thing that can speed up this sluggish economy is increases in wage and earning taxes.

The biggest factor causing stagnation? This misplaced fury to impose “controls” on some mythical construct called “anthropogenic climate change”.

Any effect humanity has on overall climate as it affects the entire planet falls into statistically insignificant numbers, and is perhaps almost entirely self-canceling - no net change either making things “warmer” or “colder”.

Figures don’t lie, but, man, liars can figure. And they do, by manipulating data and drawing totally illogical conclusions from the same data sets. Mathematical projections using incomplete or skewed data, plus assumptions based entirely on S.W.A.G. numbers, do not reflect reality, now or ever.

For those of you puzzled by the initials, Scientific Wild-A**ed Guess. Also known as the Finagle Factor, which is a highly variable constant, that, when applied to the data at hand, provides the answer that was being sought all the time.

Skepticism is part of my DNA.

I think if all Americans pay more taxes directly to the UN, and have more of our liberties taken away, that should do the trick.

You'd love this. Of course, 40 years ago, they didn't have implantable chips!

It's a short read. Well worth it. I still have my 40-year old copy on my shelf.

Coincidentally, the problems started as soon as the socialist seized power in the United States. It’s a shame that the far left gets unlucky like that every time they finally get real power.

And then there’s the fact they’ve been understating inflation for 20 years to avoid paying for SSI, federal pensions and SSDI.

JOHN MAULDIN: The government has been dramatically understating inflation
http://www.businessinsider.com/john-mauldin-government-understating-inflation-2016-5

Stagnant wages with 3% inflation for 20 years more than explains the “indescribable problem” the media is talking about of middle class anxiety and malaise.
When you make the same wages as you did 20 years ago accounting for official inflation and real inflation is 1% a year over that rate - you’ve had flat wages with a 20% rise in cost of living, while the feds refuse to admit that bringing in more competition for jobs or raising prices for essentials like healthcare and college are bad.
