I remember about 20-25 years ago, there was a movie, where 2 guys, (Kevin Kline, I think and ???) did a lip lock.

I think I was out of the theater room in about 60 seconds. Got my money back.

And they will NOT voluntarily pay to see it nor even any intimation that it is occurring with their favorite characters.

It won't be a major factor in the movie, and as long as that's the case, it won't keep away the Trekkies. Star Trek has a built-in audience, and it will deliver solid numbers, though not in the Star Wars league or even in the Finding Dory league.

I’ve met Takei on a number of occasions and found him to be a gentleman with a good sense of humor.

I think he has always been true to himself in a way that did not denigrate others. We used to call this “a class act”.
