JULY 13--A motorist who last night slammed his car into a tree in upstate New York told police that he was distracted playing Pokemon Go at the time of the crash, according to investigators.
The 28-year-old driver was not seriously injured in the accident, which left his car crumpled. The vehicle, seen in the adjacent police photo, careened off a road in the city of Auburn and struck a tree around 10:45 PM Tuesday.
Police have not identified the driver, who suffered cuts to his legs and was transported to a local hospital for treatment. He is expected to be cited in connection with the one-car accident.
The motorist, cops say, admitted to actively playing the Pokemon Go game while driving causing him to become distracted and run off the roadway into a tree. A police safety alert notes how easily accidents can occur when someone is engaged in the game and not paying attention.

I guess I’ll be zotted or censured if I say ‘Good’?
Idiot all the way. No phones while driving.
Sorry but could someone explain what the heck that is? I tried searching on it but it doesn’t make any sense.
Wait. They got that wrong, didn't they? I was thinking 16 tops. And that was only because the driver must have had a driver's license. Otherwise I would have guessed 14.
How many times have I told you son, don’t Poke and drive?
I believe it’s like a scavenger hunt that uses your cell phone, and sends you all over the place looking for certain (?). and when you find the (?), your reward is (?). As you can see, I’m still working on understanding of the game.
I read where the guy that developed Pokeman Go is also the guy (company?) that developed Google Earth. And did the 3-D imaging of buildings based on the satellite imagery. He is in part funded by the CIA. Whether the CIA is actively using the information provided by Pokemon Go (GPS coordinates and photos) remains to be seen. They may just be involved to develop their own/other methods.
But - the license that the kids agree to allows Pokemon Go to share all of their data with law enforcement and other third parties.
And WTH is a 28-year old doing playing Pokemon Go!!???
I’m going to send this childish clowns to Railroad Crossings, and cliffs overlooking 400ft drops.
Okay I get the idea, sorta. So who puts those out there anyway? What do you get like a prize or something? Who gives out the prizes?
Sounds weird.
I don’t know either. But Pokemon Go is going to get sued, if somebody’s family member walks in front of a bus or train while in hot pursuit of some cartoon icon. Attention should be paid now, vs after they get smacked by a nighttrain.
Or, they can take the easy way out, and say, you cannot receive or play this game until you exempt Pokemon Go of any and all liability.
What kind of game is this?
Evidently, the people who run this game can put these little monster-creatures in the most sacred of places--like churches, war memorials(Arlington is having a problem with this PokemonGo thing) and any other physical spot on the face of the globe.
And we just learned that a new law allows Facebook,Twitter and other internet power-houses to ban all anti-Islamic terrorism comments from the web--but this Pokemon Go weirdness is OK to mess up the world of virtual reality?
Congress better get its "Banning" priorities straight.
They’d be walking around texting anyway, walking into moving traffic etc.
By using the game you have already agreed to the contract.

In the video posted earlier in the thread the young man is about to enter a person’s yard at night to “capture” a Pokemon. Good thing it is England - he might be safe. In Texas.......?
Well I had to try it to see what this NOISE was all about. It starts to load, then stops with a big red exclamation mark. It worked once, but that was all.
What about Thinning the heard?
