Thank you for your kind words. I know I did the right thing. Now it’s in God’s hands.

Apparently she believes in tit for tat.

“But this decision was not politically or ideologically based - it was seen as the only way to avoid ruin.”

Fortunately we aren’t anywhere near the same situation in our country, so that excuse isn’t available nowadays.

“Do you think governments that want to do away with someone won’t do it regardless? Do you think they wait until they have found a legitimate ‘excuse’?”

No, but I do believe in the power of incentives. Right now, government killing citizens extralegally is pretty disincentivized, because they know they will be scrutinized heavily in such situations. If we were to sanction one form of killing to be free from such scrutiny, though, then we would effectively erase that disincentivization, thus there will be more extralegal killing as a major barrier against it is removed.

Evidence that this is a ‘legalization-bashing fest’.

In the posts above mine (the first two were obvious sarcasm):

But ... it’s a victimless crime.

Everything would be fine if only heroin were legal.

Comparing alcohol to heroin is apples and oranges.

Certainly not as sophomoric as these threads usually get, but the logic-free snark still runs thick. And, yes, mindless sarcasm is not "mere discussion", but rather a form of bashing.

A note of caution:

Everything I’ve seen posted from KTLA seems to be Global Warming alarmist and pro-Hillary, pro-illegal immigrants, and anti-Trump.

It’s gotten to the point I almost stop reading as soon as I see “KTLA.”

What possible agenda or campaign pledge would such a huge-market mouthpiece for the DNC have to gain from running such an irresistibly and dramatic and made-for-Hollywood piece such as this, sure to be picked up by conservative and media alike?

All I’m saying is, watch for the next debate to feature a “Question From the Audience” [(c)HRC] such as “What is YOUR plan for addressing the rampant scourge of opioid abuse?” (A subject which has miraculously been cropping up in all local newspapers for the last 2 months).

Heroin is very cheap so it is replacing most every other drug as the drug of choice.

Enforcement against fentanyl is exceptionally hazardous. The stuff is very nasty and toxic in dealer quantities.

Sure, and anyone else the government didn’t like could also be shot as long as the government made sure to plant some drugs on them.

"...adulterate it with a slow-acting fatal poison and then put it out on the street for sale, in 4-6 months a large percentage of junkies would be dead.

There was a problem around thirty years ago in my town of Santa Cruz, Ca. A couple agents( can't remember if undercover police or sheriffs) were forced to whiff cocaine laced with strychnine. They died and the pounds of coke were put on the streets. I have no details on why the coke was put on the street but all those druggies and dealers started going to church. Can't condone your idea. I'd say just the rumor would be enough to clean a whole lot of druggies and dealers.

I know more than one parent that has buried their child due to drug overdose. They were excellent parents. In fact they were bright enough not to show their ignorance to the world via the internet.
