Roll Tide! Alabama crushed the Washington Huskies, 24-7, in the 2016 Chick-fil-A Peach Bowl, college football playoff game at the Georgia Dome in Atlanta on Dec. 31st. Keep reading for all the details on this epic matchup!

What an amazing game! Alabama, the reigning National and SEC champions, defeated a strong Washington Huskies team 24-7 in the Peach Bowl. Washington jumped out to an early 7-0 lead in the first quarter but then the Crimson Tide, led by young quarterback Jalen Hurts, 18, came roaring back and controlled the rest of the game. Alabama will now return to the National Championship game on Jan. 9, 2017, against the winner of Fiesta Bowl, which features Clemson versus Ohio State.

Turnovers and defense made the difference in this wild battle. Washington’s QB Jake Browning, 20, the sophomore from Folsom, California connected early with his receiver Dante Pettis, 20, for a touchdown but then the Huskies struggled to get anything going after the first quarter. A fumble followed by an interception returned for a touchdown demoralized the overmatched Washington team. The second half of the game continued to be all ‘Bama.

The Tide wore down Washington’s defense from every angle. On the ground and in the air Alabama proved to the Washington fans why they are the reigning champions and why they deserve a seat at the big title game on Jan. 9th

Washington had a total of 194 yards of total offense.

Going back to 1926, Washington (still) has never beat Alabama.

I know it’s strange, but I’m a Tennessee fan that roots for Alabama when they aren’t playing the Vols...

Could it be a rematch of last year’s championship?

Was it just me, or did you also see a pathetic pass offense? Defense on both sides seemed good. But, passing accuracy by Washington was rather sad.

I'm a proximity rooter....who ever is closer to me, gets my cheers.

I will root for Clemson over Ohio just because Clemson is in South Carolina. We beat Clemson last year for the national championship. They were a tough opponent.

I didn’t really relax until maybe 3 minutes left.

I had a strong feeling that Washington would win. Maybe just fear.

I've complained about Jalen Hurts' passing all year.
(Hurts is an 18 YO freshman though)

I admired Bear Bryant...He is smiling at Alabama’s defense...He once said, “Defense is the name of the game...You can run50 plays on offense...Screw up 47, run 3 perfect and have 21 points...Run 50 on defense and have 47 perfect...Screw up 3 of them and be down 21 points...”

Roll Tide, Roll!

Yea, Alabama! Drown ‘em Tide!
Every ‘Bama man’s behind you;
Hit your stride!
Go teach the Bulldogs to behave,
Send the Yellow Jackets to a watery grave!
And if a man starts to weaken,
That’s a shame!
For ‘Bama’s pluck and grit
Have writ her name in crimson flame!
Fight on, fight on, fight on, men!
Remember the Rose Bowl we’ll win then!
Go, roll to victory,
Hit your stride,
You’re Dixie’s football pride, Crimson Tide!

Plus, Dabo is a Bama grad.

I’m neutral. Gotta recover from today’s game. I don’t like it when refs don’t make calls. It leads to more blatant fouls which are still not called.

It was rather easy, very similar to most of their games this year!

"I had a strong feeling that Washington would win. Maybe just fear."

I know the feeling.

I thought Washingtons offense would look better than they did.

Scarborough carried the day for Bama, 180 yards rushing.

"Remember the Rose Bowl we’ll win then!"

That line is in reference to the 1926 Rose Bowl game against Washington.

Alabama won with Johnny Mack Brown from Dothan.
