She really pushed that back on us. All show, no go.
I NEVER watched any of her shows...NOT EVER...and can't stand the bitch.
In the 1990s, teaming her with 60 Minutes would have been a grand slam. Ten years ago...maybe a double. Today? Totally different atmosphere and her charm won’t carry much water.
They might be able to one decent ‘healing’ story for the first occasion....mostly in some blue state and around feminists. She’s going to find push-back and skeptics in abundance. Selling the general public on the Democratic group agendas will be mostly amusing stuff.
My prediction is that by the third Oprah episode...her pieces will be pronounced mostly a joke. She’s there to help work mostly the mid-election period of 2018....to save the Democratic Senators. It’ll become apparent where her segments mostly occur....red states with Democratic Senators. Maybe she’ll last a year at this, and then just walk away...realizing the party is screwed up and the message theme has to be totally redone.

Sorry but I will have to disagree with you on this. My nephew passed away from acute leukemia two weeks ago. This is what Oprah did:
1. She gave my sister two weeks off with pay.
2. Got a well-known doctor to consult with the hospital staff.
3. Arranged for a large enough church to accommodate 400 guests.
4. Had her staff make a video of his life story.
You might disagree with her politics but give Oprah kudos for helping my sister.
I don’t think I’ve ever watched her. It’s been years since I watched television shows, except for news. Now that we’ve ‘cut the cord’, all I see is interesting stuff on youtube, and what’s available on Roku, Hulu - if I choose it. Usually, I’m reading a book.
(Husband has been watching old episodes of ‘Quantum Leap’ for a month, now - when he isn’t also reading a book, instead :-)
I can’t stand Oprah.

They hired her to bring in more eyes. Well, I doubt that the blacks who still like her are going to watch 60 Minutes and whites deserted her long ago.

I’ve never quite understood how and from where 60 Minutes still garners its Neilsen ratings? Of course, I haven’t recently checked the Neilsen ratings for Sunday evenings.
The ONLY time I see Oprah (and it’s NOT by choice) are those Weight Watcher’s commercials of hers!
My sister is not a lefty.
I know quite a few people, in real life; out of all of them, I know of only ONE, who still watches 60 Minutes and I keep asking WHY? ! :^)
It was well known, in Chicago, that she ONLY hired lefties and IF you weren't one, you had to LIE, to get hired.
And hell yes, Oprah IS a stinking load of excrement; no matter what she did or did not do for your sister.
