An Arctic methane explosion that took place close to 12,000 years ago resulted in several large craters at the bottom of the ocean, a new study has discovered. But what stands out as interesting is the fact that thousands of years later, gas is still seeping out slowly from the seafloor.
The study published earlier this week in the journal Science details yet another set of findings regarding these explosions that took place over the past thousands of years. And with climate change very much a hot-button topic these days, scientists are wondering whether its possible that these Arctic methane explosions may take place in the future, and how they could play a part in global warming, according to the Washington Post.

Can we get it in different shapes?
Quick. Carbon tax it!
Mom, I swear I didn't do that. Really. Cross my heart.
Nice pic.Reminds me I need to pick up some more Preparation H.
I looked up that information on Wattsupwiththat it would seem by their calculations Mt Etna put out 1/200 of the amount put out in CO2 in the past 150 years or so
Not, it’s not possible. I asked Al Gore and he said Trump was big poopyhead.
Somehow, someone will blame this on man.
To me, these discoveries strongly support the idea that methane, crude oil, natural gas, and other hydrocarbon-derivative deposits actually originate in the mantle (as part of an ongoing process), prior to being deposited in the earth’s crust. Plate tectonics or no, I find it hard to believe that hydrocarbon deposits of the high magnitude we see could be sourced to decomposing organic matter laid down in eons gone by.
The world has been in turmoil for hundreds of millions of years - watching modern-day environmentalists obsessed with trying to keep it the same as it has been for only the last fifty years or so is like watching a madman trying to balance an egg on the edge of a razor blade.....
The problem with the purveyors of the globull warming crap is: there are more more variables at play that they will never even admit to, let alone consider and factor into their equations.
It’s all about the Bejamins. (Franklin must be turning in his grave.)
