Wow: Donald Trump Jr. Releases the Emails -- and They Look a lot Like, Um, Collusion
Townhall ^ | July 11, 2017 | Guy Benson

Earlier today, here at Townhall and on Fox News, I said that more information needed to be gathered before anyone should declare the Donald Trump, Jr. story a bombshell or a dud. First and foremost, I argued, it would be very helpful to see the actual emails that preceded the now-infamous June meeting, which the New York Times claimed would demonstrate that the president's son was well aware of the alleged source and nature of the promised anti-Clinton information (which never materialized) in advance. The Times story was rooted in unnamed sources who characterized, but apparently did not produced, the messages in question. In order to determine if the documents were being mischaracterized, we should see them, I said. About an hour later, Donald Trump, Jr. tweeted the full four-page exchange, which Cortney relayed here. Trump Jr. cast his tweets as efforts at full transparency, but one can't help but wonder if there was another pressing motive at play: He preempted the Times, which had the chain and was about to run with it. In any case, the content of these emails was, in my case, literally jaw-dropping. Trump Jr's associate alerted him to the supposed existence of highly sensitive information regarding wrongdoing tied to Mrs. Clinton, telling him that it would be furnished by a "Russian government attorney" who was representing "Russia and its government's support for Mr. Trump" (who now claims she wasn't tied to the Kremlin). To which Trump Jr. replied, "if it's what you say I love it." This couldn't be much clearer: And these shifts look really bad, especially when you read the quote from March in which Trump Jr. flatly denies meeting with any Russian nationals in arranged meetings: . . .

. I am not sure if this is illegal, but it is disturbing.

It would be disturbing if Don Jr. hadn't met with the woman. If there is evidence of more criminal behavior by the Clintons, someone needs to find out about it and relay it to the FBI.

-- Go back to the whole James Comey charade and see how easy it was for the New York Times, Washington Post, and CNN to run stories with claims about the contents of Comey's memos that turned out to be completely false after Comey's testimony was made public. --

The press is still running hard with whatever investigations are on Mueller's plate and in the Congressional Committees. "We can't tell you what's in it" is turned into "something bad" by the work of pure speculation. Comey had this down to an art, in fact, he's personally responsible for seeding the field so it could sprout baseless incrimination against Trump.

Even if she were a Russian agent, it’s perfectly legal for Jr. to meet with her. The only issue is that anyone working for a campaign would have to report such a meeting. But that only applies if the person working for the campaign knew that the person was a foreign agent, or if the person claimed to be a foreign agent (even if that claim were false.) That doesn’t apply here.

Actually the email thread could be the smoking gun that shows Obama was spying on Hillary's political opponents. It looks like their claims of collusion may rest on what the first email from the British PR guy said about the Russian attorney and her sources. And that would indicate Obama was using the NSA to read emails from Trump family members, and then divulged information from them to the DNC and Hillary, and of course the media.

The reality is probably just that the British PR guy spreads a lot of BS to get people's attention, and the Russian woman was just a lobbyist, as it turned out was the case.

The emails aren't really bad for Trump, but they may present quite a legal problem for those who were spying on behalf of the Hillary Clinton campaign and the DNC.

“Putin had cut off American adoptions after an adopted Russian toddler died in a hot car.”

But the adoptions were cut off when one couple tried to return one, and when the USA would not promise not to place kids with homos. Many little kids were saved from a life immersed in perversion.

Depending on how one defines "collude." As Turley pointed out, if receiving information is collusion, then they all collude.

The left is relying on morons such as yourself to help advance their narrative.

Pat yourself on the back for helping them, moron.

The problem isn’t what the meeting returned, it is what Junior thought the meeting was going to return. That and the statement that Russia wanted Trump to win makes this a messy situation.

Looks like a sting and Junior got suckered. I thought he was the smart one...

This Turley piece was post-release of the DJT, Jr. emails.

Lefties need to make up their schizophrenic minds.

First they want open borders and floods of immigrants from foreign countries.

Then they decide it’s a crime to interact with people from foreign countries.

Which is it?

I am certain you will spend your time cheerleading against our President.

Collusion is not a crime. In fact, it appears there is no proof of collusion.

Not sure if you would be thrilled with Hillary, but you are a die hard #neverTrumper like McCain.

Early in the Fraud’s reign, or perhaps before, I recall his handlers set up factcheck.org or something similar to begin promoting all the lies about his life and “presidency”.

I’d like to see someone set up a serious site like AmericanTruth.org to properly set “history” straight with hard, true and well-documented facts about what has been done to America in recent years.

At least it would be a real-world operational test of the Fraud’s Net “Neutrality”.

‘Not sure why he released the emails. Why not ignore the whole deal?’

Ignoring it wouldn’t have worked. The NYT had a reporter who worked on this story for a solid year. They planned to spin it for all it was worth. DTJ putting it all out there took the wind out of their sails. Here’s an insightful comment from The_Donald:

TonyVilla89

LOL! He tweeted the raw Truth for ALL to see and that’s bad?

What’s wrong? Don’t like the Truth being put out there without Fake News putting their spin on it?

“D@mn, now everyone can see for themselves what transpired instead of reading our dramatized articles that tell them how to think and feel.”
