The president and director of Seattle's Fred Hutch Institute says cancer can be cured by 2025.
Dr. Gary Gilliland made the claim while speaking at the Geewkire Summit at Seattle's Sheraton Hotel. It was part of a general discussion on technology as a way to reduce the rates of cancer.
Gilliland said in particular genome sequencing costs are falling, and it has opened the door for personalized medicine and immunotherapy.
He also says there have been advances and research, which has helped in preventive cures. Gilliland says HPV vaccinations for boys and girls between the ages of 11 and 13 years old has reduced rates of HPV-related cancers by as much as 66 percent. But he also noted the U.S. trails behind other developed countries in HPV vaccinations.
Gilliland also told KING 5 that what he hopes for out of any discussions about the future of health care coverage, that one line item stays the same.
"We need to allow coverage for all to cancer care treatment," he said.
The summit continues through Wednesday afternoon.
He just went to the top of my dead pool list

RE: He just went to the top of my dead pool list
I don’t get why...
Do you think all those cancer drug manufacturers want to get rid of all their profits
Then there will be a cure for Aids. I don’t think so.
Yep, just what I was going to say.
Cure for cancer in 2025. FDA approves in 2225
... and fusion powered electricity that is too cheap to meter is just around the corner.
...And a flying car in every garage. 2025? This is a pitch for mo’ money.
Aids is already a treatable chronic condition. It stopped being a death sentence years ago.
Yea, cancer cure has been 5 to 10 years out for like 30s that I know of. Don’t hold your breath.
You dont cure cancer.
You kill it and save the patients;
and there WERE cures until Obama and the
Congress IMPOSED ObamaCARE to stop diagnosis and treatments.
At least for others rather than themselves and their Staff
and THEIR families ...
because they are EXEMPT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Really? You don’t get why?
Prevention works 100% of the time so sit down to keep your mouth shut
Grew up with him as our manager. Sad day when cancer took him.

Cause Al Baby is nuts.
I think it could already be cured but there is too much money to be made all the way around by treating it.
Last year I spent from sometime in July to the end of December dealing with a large GIST tumor and it’s side effects which included sepsis, kidney failure, a mild heart attack. Fred Hutch saved my life. I am back to work just like new...no drugs no nothing. There are so many wonderful people there working to save lives.
The head Dr at SCCA (Seattle Cancer Care Alliance) told us that it was never a good time to get cancer but...this was the best time to get cancer.
There are and have been already many ‘cancer cures’ using natural supplements, treatments and such. But those can’t be patented and make billion$ for big pharma, so they will be suppressed.
Any medical doctor who treats patients successfully with those types of therapies will be raided by the DEA and prosecuted, losing their license as an example for all those who would stray off the path of Big Cancer/Big Pharma. Look up Tahoma Clinic in Kent WA, raided by jackboots with machine guns in full body armor for prescribing vitamins.
The cut and burn medical field and big cancer orgs can’t afford to “cure cancer”. They’d lose trillions of $. You can guarantee that this guy will either be gone or it’s just a promo for Fred Hutch to get more gullible cancer victims into their programs with the false hope that they can survive their bodies being poisoned and radiated to death.
