FULL TITLE: Should we talk about the fact that women in positions of power are sexually abusing minors under their authority too?

Life isn't like a Van Halen song.

I know what you're going to say. No teenage boy will object to this type of "abuse." Just as the sexes are inherently different, the distinguishing factor here is that the women in question didn't want the sexual attention. The boys not only wanted it but probably couldn't believe their luck.

But you're forgetting something.

There's a reason we have an age of consent that applies to both boys and girls, and the reason is that the law doesn't consider teenagers mature enough to make decisions about sex. (That's because they're not.) A cute female teacher in her 20s who decides to have sex with a teenage male student may be giving him the experience of his dreams, but that doesn't mean she isn't doing him harm.

Try for a minute not to think with your flesh. She's in a position of authority over him, and by involving herself with him sexually with him, she's not only introducing a very complicating factor into the teacher/student relationship - although she's certainly doing that. She's also messing with his psyche, as anyone will understand is a sticky wicket when you're dealing with the way sexual experiences influence the development of the male self-concept.

And: When a teacher is having sex with her students, she's got a secret she needs to protect on penalty of job loss at the least and jail at the worst. She's now putting that teenage boy in the very uncomfortable position of having to help protect that secret.

The real problem with predatory women are not the heterosexual ones but the lesbians.

Aggressive and perverted. Maybe not all but many of the ones I know should never be around children.

Just ask CPS ...

Age of Consent is for both Marriage and Sex, one may beget the other when a 12GA is involved... or so I am told.

This does seem to be pretty well confined to the educational system. Probably because corporate America has been setting high standards for sexual harassment training and prevention for 20 to 30 years. It’s not that it doesn’t happen, but the rate of occurrence seems to be much higher in schools, and much more often female-instigated. In over 20 years with a Fortune 50 company I can’t remember hearing rumors of even one incident of sexual harassment allegations being brought against a woman.

Re: women in positions of power sexually abusing minors under their authority... Caution, Flame Bait

Two points. One, this question should be left to the schools and the parents; the law, civil and criminal should have no jurisdiction IF the age of consent for males were lowered to 15 or 16.

Looking back, by those ages I was at my full adult height, weight, sexual interest (horny, for my fellow sailors) and more importantly, held an adult, professional job. The only reason I was still in High School was that it was a prerequisite for college. In point of fact, my son was in college at fifteen, nearly sixteen, as a commercial flight student. I'm not "child development" trained, but I just can't believe you could damage a young man, who would be attractive to a older woman, in any detrimental way.

My second point, regarding school authority; let the board set a policy and let the school officials enforce it. If the teacher (and student) want to risk school punishment, so be it! There are so many more issues in education to contend with that this is just a distraction.

Dead wrong.
It is literally not possible to state anything about the topic more wrong than that.

Zero of the predatory lesbians have produced a child from the relationship that has father too young to support his child. There is a strong possibility of the young prey to of these women winding up unable to form stable relationships later in life, or winding up in all manner of sexual immorality from prostitution to homosexual lifestyles.

But only the heterosexual predators can produce a child caught in that same storm.

Are you going to propose slaughtering the child in the womb as a solution?
Dumping the child into the social welfare grinder?
I know, leave the baby with the predatory egg donor. Because someone who lust after minors won't commit incest, right?
Or perhaps force a grandparent to raise the child. The child won't see the resentment there, what negative effects could that produce?

Millstone are a better solution, and that isn't over the top.

Do you feel similarly about male teachers and female students?

This happens in churches, summer camps, and youth organizations. It is not confined to the schools.

“I can’t remember hearing rumors of even one incident of sexual harassment allegations being brought against a woman.’

Gee. Why is that? You infer that women bosses are noble and pristine as well as any feminist. Could it be that men know the system is stacked against them>

Have noticed this. Seems to be betting worse and not sure the reason why.

It may have gone on when we were in school but don’t think it was near to the scale as what is going on today.

“... but I just can’t believe you could damage a young man, who would be attractive to a older woman, in any detrimental way.”

Usually not, but you’ll want to take back that statement if you look at some of the HIDEOUS samples that show up once in a while, the ones that we proudly declare as GUILTY! No teenage boy could recover from these beasts.

Good analysis by Mr. Cain. You can boil the whole mess down into a couple of words - instant gratification. In today's freewheeling world, if it feels good, just do it.

The difference is the ubiquitous presence of digital cameras.

When you were growing up if a student made an accusation the teacher denied it and the student was punished. Fini. That would be the entire story.

And then Steve Jobs decided that it was cheaper to not offer cell phones without cameras built in and voila! Here we are.

Ubiquitous cameras have also reshaped how people think aabout law enforcement.
