Does this test remind anyone else of the old tests we had to take to get jobs in the computer field?
Later
Testy no worky.
When I was working in C++ back in the 90s, one of my team made up a C++ test for job candidates. There were 20 questions, and most of the applicants could answer only 2 or 3 of them correctly. Every once in a while, somebody would answer all 20 correctly.
Then we had to interview him further, to make sure he wasn’t too crazy....
I DESTROYED the test using THIS ONE WEIRD TRICK!

The question that asks if cases hold 28 shoes each and you have to pack 112 shoes, how many cases do you need does not offer the correct answer in the choices. The correct answer is 4 cases, because 4x28=112. So is the test a phony or is the correct answer none of the above (which is not given as a choice).
You’ve got a giant genius brain!
There is at least 1 incorrect answer on it.
-26 - - 37 = 11.
8 out of 15
OK, how does -26 - -37 end up at -63? Subtracting a negative adds the value, not subtracts.
You’ve got a giant genius brain!
How is your head big enough for your brain, you ol’ smartypants!?! Doesn’t matter. What DOES matter is that you’re REALLY FREAKIN’ SMART!!! Seriously, tell us all of your secrets. We want to gain your knowledge and be exactly like you! Get out of here and go save the world or something, ‘kay?
I missed the one about which two countries fought in the Spanish-American War.

Went to the Daily Mail site to take it. Got 5 wrong but one of their answers is wrong, so got 4 wrong. Didn’t tell me my score. Went to the actual site and plugged in the same answers I wrote the first time, didn’t tell me how many wrong but told me I have a giant genius brain. Take it for what it’s worth.
Bttt
Not sure how I did, but it seems that it went well?
A few years ago I would take those online tests and brain teasers. Now, I see the ones that say something like, “97% of people can’t pass this” and I think, what they mean is 97% of people’s DOGS can’t pass it.
I got 10. Well, 9 plus the incorrect “-63” answer, which should be 11.
Missed one because I didn’t read it carefully enough.
Just always remember that IQ test questions are made to be as tricky as possible i.e what looks like a numeric sequence is sometimes alphabetic. And many times a question is hard but becomes easy if worked backwards....i.e the day of the week nonsense question.
Some questions are worked simply by substituting the values in the answer until you see the one that fits. i.e the almost moronically simple apples and bananas Q
Always first eliminate the obviously false answers and then tackle the question in earnest.
In numerical questions always have an eagle eye out for a switch in how one of the factors is expressed...i.e. single shoe vs pairs of shoes in the shoes Q.
My IQ is above the genius level but I still manage to do really stoopid stuff...and I’m FAR from the smartest freeper around here!
But then, FR is where the smart folks all hang out :-)
