The Paris authorities have announced new measures to tackle the scourge of sexual harassment and abuse on the citys public transport system.
Its a problem many, many people in Paris are familiar with. And now President of the greater Paris region of Île-de- France and leader of the greater Paris region of Île-de-France, Valerie Pecresse, is determined to put a stop to it.
From February, the city will experiment a new measures which will allow people on certain buses the chance to hop off at night even when the vehicle isnt at a designated stop.
The measure, which Pecresse said women had specifically asked her to introduce, will be tested on around ten lines in the greater Paris area and these stops may be requested by women or men to shorten the route between the bus stop and their home.
The interest is to avoid these attacks that take place on the way home, she said, adding that she would like this system to eventually be rolled out across the network if the experiment is conclusive and does not become systematically stressful for the driver.
On top of the hop-off experiment, 650 more staff members dressed in plain clothes will be hired to monitor safety on trains and buses.

While still moving? If yes, that would be great for the perpetrators.
Lots of other cities experimented with so-called request stops even without the “sexual harassment” angle. They all reverted to using posted bus stops. When average speed dips below 5 mph, you’re no better than walking.
What’s to stop the Muslims from getting off at the same time as their victims?
How about setting up the guillotine in Place de la Concorde again and publicly executing the rapists? Also, keep the mucking fuzzies the hell out of your country!
“Whats to stop the Muslims from getting off at the same time as their victims?”
My thought exactly. And it would be much less safe for the victim. At least in the bus there are other people who might be able to come to your assistance. In the street you’re much more on your own.
I don’t want to say its Muslims but its Muslims. :-)
Stop importing men who have been raised to believe that rape and murder are part of their birthright. Pretty damned simple.
Anything to avoid having to deal with the actual problem.
Why stop at all?
The solution to this problem is so obvious. Simply make it a rule that women cannot leave the home without a male relative as an escort. Also mandate that women wear garments that conceal any part of their bodies that might incite a lust-filled male. Even better, these codes are already written and enforced in several nations so Paris won’t have to go to the trouble of writing them up.
It would be easier to deport all the muzzies.
