Trust in social media companies such as Facebook and Twitter has reached a new low, a major credibility survey has warned, over concerns they do not do enough to tackle bullying, illegal activities and the spreading of extremist content on their sites.
Most people think the online companies are not regulated enough (64 percent) and lack transparency (63 percent), according to the Edelman Trust Barometer.
Just over half (57 percent) believe social media firms take advantage of users loneliness, and 62 percent think they are selling peoples data without their knowledge.
A third (34 percent) do not think social media is a force for good in society, the survey of 33,000 people found.
Facebook, Twitter and other online giants have faced intense criticism from MPs over the way they deal with offensive or extreme content, and the Government has warned they face penalties if they refuse to tighten up controls.

I'm amazed that anyone ever trusted the likes of Facebook, Twitter, et cetera with their personal information. It's bad enough that all of our data is floating around "out there" for anyone to grab and use/abuse. I just never felt the need to actually hand over my info just so that I can keep in touch with everyone I've ever known (and a couple of billion that I'll never know), 24/7/365.

And here's the buried lead:
have faced intense criticism from MPs over the way they deal with offensive or extreme content, and the Government has warned they face penalties if they refuse to tighten up controls
It's about suppression of free speech, iow, censorship under UK rules. Thanks Olog-hai.

Mark Zuckerberg is a left-wing, progressive, globalist pawn and a surveillance dupe of the CIA/NSA/FBI. There's even a good chance he hasn't a clue about coding software. Furthermore, from the facts regarding Leader vs FB, it is unlikely he had ANYTHING to do with the creation of FaceBook.

"62 percent think they are selling peoples data without their knowledge." Only 62%? Selling people's data is Facebook's whole business model.

They use their resources to suppress normal peoples’ thoughts, and to promote leftist and muzzy propaganda.
