Thats a pricey meatball.
A Midtown restaurant will be serving up a swanky version of the Italian classic for a whopping $100, which includes just one meatball paired with a glass of wine, for one day only.
On National Meatball Day, March 9, Davios Northern Italian Steakhouse will offer an upgraded take on its Kobe beef meatballs that normally sell for just $13.
The boosted ball will be made with wagyu beef and winter truffles and stuffed with truffle caciocavallo cheese and foie gras. Its topped with a creamy shallot and champagne sauce.
Odell Beckham Jr. shares Super Bowl meatball recipe in new ad Our Davios American Kobe Meatballs are already so popular that we wanted to create a spin on them and have some fun for National Meatball Day, Juan Tourn, executive chef at Davios, tells the Daily News.
We wanted to utilize some of the finest ingredients available to provide our guests with a decadent and unique tasting experience available for one day only.
Spaghetti and meatballs is one of those classic, timeless dishes, and even though it has some serious Italian influences, its arguably as much as an American classic as apple pie. Not nearly as many restaurants serve the dish these days as in the past, however, so it can be tricky to track down a truly great plate of spaghetti and meatballs. But at these 10 restaurants, the spaghetti and meatballs is better than at anywhere else in America.
For a Benjamin, plus tax and gratuity, guests will also get a glass of 2012 Prunotto Barolo, a red wine produced in the northern Italian region of Piedmont.
The structure and body of this Barolo make it an ideal match for meat and game dishes and for cheese, Tourn says.
If youre into opulent, overpriced dishes, be sure to make a reservation to secure one of these succulent spheres.
Davios (447 Lexington Ave.) is asking that reservations be made at least 24 hours prior to your March 9 visit. That day, the mega-meatballs will be served between 11:30 a.m. and 10 p.m.
well played
