I enjoy reading the comments posted at many US News Papers web sites.
This past week I have noticed, at many, those options are not available.
Is this because the Lib News Controllers are fearing a loss of control of the narrative ?
That should flag you as virtuous and wonderful, unless you're doing it wrong.
Perhaps you are doing things wrong.

A lot of news sites have disabled comments.
Too many conservatives screwing up their narrative.
I think it has more to do with political advocacy groups astroturfing.
Iook at IMDB.com, I used to love to read their forums, then astroturfers came in, it became a pain to probably maintain, not to mention a lot of movies did get poor and vulgar reviews just because.

Usually because liberals are vomiting vile vitriol all over the “discussion”.
I have noticed for some time now that articles seemingly critical of conservatives and their ideas are typically open to the anticipated critical comments, while the opposite occurs with liberals.
They stopped the discussion format last year.
Facebook and Twitter are either banning or suspending people with Conservative views, I recently got suspended from Facebook for yet another 30 days..
I believe so.
Just after the Olympics, CBSsports did away with their comments section(which was lively)...
so now I rarely go there.
I know for a fact they didn’t like us criticizing Lindsay Vonn and saying things like.... I hope she falls flat on her face.

The Hate America Media (HAM) wants it to appear that everyone agrees with them.
I have too. I can guess ahead of time on sites like the Daily Mail whether or not they are “accepting comments” on the article or moderating them in advance. For example they would never have a Bruce Jen...uh, Caitlyn Jenner article with open comments. There probably has never been a Trump article subject to moderation.
I think they are torn.
They want to shut people up that are debunking their liberal articles in the comments section.
But they want the page hits that comments supply to prove to advertisers that the have the numbers and their ads are being seen.
Charles Johnson was quoted in Politico as saying, “This election was about the article versus the comment section.”
That about sums it up.

MSN.com, of course, is relentlessly and vehemently Leftist, but the Comment sections were split 50-50, Left and Right, and the quality of Right Wing comments were often as good as the quality at Free Republic.
MSN.com also has a daily poll question, which is usually political in nature, and the same Right-Left balance is apparent there, too.
No doubt the daily poll will be canceled in the near future, too.
Our local Gannett newsrag only allows use of their discussion forum through Fakebook, which eliminates a lot of us conservatively inclined folks.
That’s exactly why. Remember all the online stories had a comments section. They were constantly having the narrative of their lie exposed by the experts in the general population.
It isn’t random because it is happening to conservatives everywhere they are found on social media also. It’s a coordinated plan and they are trying to move back to the days when Walter Cronkite could say something and nobody could falsify it.
This also explains the “Russia troll” hysteria. They know the reach of the shutdown needs to be global.
I noticed that about CBS Sports also. I gave them hell about turning Stormy Daniels into a sports story simply because Ben Roethlisberger was thinly mentioned. It was obvious they wanted everyone to know they had a story about Trump with a porn star so they made it a lead story on their sports site and highlighted Ben’s minor mention.
Look up “Identitarian.” It’s all the rage with more young folks every day. According to some of them, increasingly more on the left are being “red pilled” and moving to the right in Europe and the USA.
Look up some YouTube videos on that topic (Identitarian). Quite a bit of information there.
