When ABCs reboot of Roseanne premiered last month, the show decimated others competing in similar time slots.
Roseanne had been off the air for nearly 20 years but returned as a rousing success. It even managed to beat out CBSs exclusive interview with former porn star and Trump accuser Stormy Daniels. The March 27 premiere reported early ratings of 18.5 million million viewers with a 5.1 rating among adults aged 18-49. (RELATED: You Wont Believe The Monster Ratings The Roseanne Premiere Got)
But today, Variety is reporting even better ratings than previously expected. The delayed ratings have officially clocked in at 27.3 million viewers. That bumped the premiere up by 8.8 million viewers, which is pretty remarkable. The show also indicated a late ratings increase to 8.1 among adults aged 18-49, which is certainly a significant boost from the previously reported 5.1.
Many are attributing the shows success to its different political slant. Roseanne is one of the only shows on television that features a Trump-supporting protagonist.
Its just realistic, Roseanne said of the original show concept. I have always attempted to portray a realistic portrait of the American people and working class people. And, in fact, it was working class people that elected Trump so I felt that was very real and something that needed to be discussed.
Whatever the reason for Roseannes success, theres no doubt its on the upward trend. The viewers of America have spoken. Lets hope ABC is listening.

It must be Russian collusion. Send in the FBI.
That doesn’t even count online/Hulu.
The original series ran out of material a couple of seasons before it ended.
The reboot of Will & Grace has similar hoopla when it restarted. It has been sagging in the ratings.
AHHH...Its those DAMN DEPLORABLES!! Clingers of bibles, guns, and great unwash tv shows! What’s next is Tim Allen coming back on TV?
Will and Grace? Kind of comparing mix fruits there aren’t you?

Thanks simpson96. ABC *may* have learned something from its partisan termination of "Last Man Standing".
I’m going to go out on a limb here and say that the ratings will drop.
The MAGA theme and President Trump are (according to Rush) only mentioned in the first airing. I watched what I guess was the third show last week. Nothing about the president or MAGA. It was the usual lefty bilge - one of the daughters wanting to have a baby, for $50,000.00, for someone needing a surrogate. It is my belief that the majority of Trumpsters have had their fill of that crap.
More of a commentary on the networks’ flurry of rebooting old programs. Some are successful, but most are failures.
Talented lady....and she makes everyone else rise.
The ratings will obviously drop because the curiosity factor will eventually wane.
However, it should continue to do well for the simple reasons it’s funny and people can relate to the Conners while 99% of sitcoms made this century have sucked beyond belief. Sitcoms today are one dimensional unrelatable characters who are either uber stick up @$$ Liberals who non-stop Conservative/ White people bash or are slutty women who try to “push the envelope” by whoring around and trying to be the female version of 2½ Men.
A show about the sex habits of the left.
Big hit.
Too bad Netflix (or some outfit) wont pick up LMS.
Netflix and the others are all far lest leftist companies. Do yourself a favor and just send your money strait to the DNC or to George Soros.
Seems to me so conservative investor would be willing to go up against these and create an anti-Hulu-Netflix alternative
Thats where I watch it. She is flat out funny
Sure would be fun if Tim Allen came on in a guest spot on Roseanne..........
Most American men love women as wives, mothers, etc., who look more like Roseanne than Stormy Daniels.
And most American women love men like Roseanne’s TV husband who love them despite the fact that they look more like Roseanne than Stormy Daniels.
“Roseanne” isn’t just a sitcom, it’s a love story.
Yep. I cancelled Netflix two weeks ago, after being one of their original customers.
I heard today that the CMA awards had a lot more viewers than the Comey clown show
