PALM SPRINGS, Calif.- - A woman is in critical condition after being attacked by her own dog in Palm Springs Monday evening.
Palm Springs police said they received numerous reports from residents in the 5300 block of Waverly Drive that a pit bull was attacking its owner Monday at around 6:15 p.m.

I confess to curiosity as to how many times the dog needed to be tased to halt the attack.

I assume the Dog overheard the owner talking on the phone to the Vet’s Office to schedule the Neutering.
Seems like the almost daily pit bull attack report. As much sustained violence as we also see reported from Chicago each week.
Yeah I have a huge heart for those dogs...but you don’t “street rescue” a 7 year old pit. As babies, if you treat them right....they’ll protect you against the devil himself. Treat em wrong, they’ll eat your face.
Sad.
Damn good looking dogs. Too many damned stupid people.

Yes, they are good-looking dogs, a lot of them.
They do understand a lot more than we realize.

My exBIL’s dog that he never had any idea how to control.
She could have been awesome. Probably ended up in a shelter somewhere.
Dogs are pack animals. If you want a pit, you need to be alpha.
Strong alpha, but a kind alpha.
We need to put down all pit bulls. Same to for violent criminals. World would be a safer place.

A dog is more a product of it’s environment than humans are. We give dirtbags a chance and eff the pits, huh?
I’ve known a few pits. I’d let them have my back.

Mark twain wrote that if you took in a starving dog, fed it and made it prosperous it wouldn’t bite you, and this was the difference between a dog and a man. It seems Pit bulls are an exception to that rule.
