20 killed in Schoharie limousine crash (New York state)

SCHOHARIE - Twenty people died Saturday's crash of a limousine in Schoharie County, State Police confirmed late Sunday morning.

The crash is the deadliest in the Capital Region since the Oct. 2, 2005 sinking of the Ethan Allen tour boat on Lake George killed 20 people.

Reminds me of the limousine crash which paralyzed Detroit Red Wing Vladimir Konstantinov and left him with a serious head injury just 6 days after they won the 1997 Stanley Cup.......The limo driver was drunk and driving on a suspended license.....

It appears as if the driver was coming from the North on 30 and didn’t know the area, and assumed that 30 CONTINUED ON without interruption. Instead, where it merges with 30A, the traffic on 30 Southbound must come to a stop.

Lived in an old farmhouse in a tiny hamlet in Central NY for about a year when I was married. Lived in New York City for the rest of my 60 years. The campground I referred to is "Country Roads", in Gilboa, NY.
