Well, that didn't take long.
Less than two years in to her first term as a U.S. House Representative, Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez wants a raise.
The freshman congresswoman tweeted last week that because members of Congress have to secure residences in D.C. and in their district, they deserve more taxpayer money for their efforts.

You should have put in the title that this is satire.
Most of this stuff is too stupid to read anyway, and those who just see the title may conclude it is a legit story.

Funny, we used to be able to say....
“This is what I pay. XXXXX down the street is hiring. I do not know what they are paying BUT if the pay here doesn’t satisfy you, I suggest you leave”.
Then you can sit back and watch these ‘advocates’ for open borders complain that someone is taking their job that is ‘illegal’ or a union company will complain you are hiring non union employees.
I had heard the other day that ‘Occasional’ won her district with 160 thousand votes.
The muslim in Minn won hers with 270+- thousand votes.
Funny how two first termers with less than 500,000 votes out of 300 million plus are basically ‘running the country’ - as far as MSM is concerned.

A modest proposal. With downsizing since the Cold War, there must be lots of military billets around the Washington area. Simply house the congressional staff in enlisted squad bays, put up the single representatives in bachelor officers quarters, the married ones in family housing. Nancy can have the commandant’s quarters. Run buses to and from the Capitol every 15 minutes.
Representatives get a driver and a jeep (for those days when there’s more than three inches of snow in DC), and Nancy gets a staff car.
If such billeting doesn’t already exist, build it.
There is precedent. The vice president stays in the quarters that formerly housed the director of the Naval Observatory.
