Pope Francis has spoken out against what he called todays culture of insults in the world.
In his homily during Pentecost Mass in St. Peters Square, Francis also said that the more we use social media, the less social we are becoming.
He warned of the temptation to cling to our little group, to the things and people we like, saying it was only a small step from a nest to a sect, even within the church.
The pope said that nowadays it is fashionable to hurl adjectives, and recommended people respond to malice with goodness, to shouting with silence, to gossip with prayer, to defeatism with encouragement. [
]
Francis echoed a call a century ago by Pope Benedict XV, after the devastation of the First World War, for an end to all forms of nationalism and ethnocentrism.

Even blind squirrels sometimes find nuts.
If Christendom concentrated more on living the life of Christ and less on complaining about what’s wrong with their brethren, it would get on a great deal better.

He isn’t the one to whom we should be looking for credibility. Jesus is the one.

I'm surprised this pope guy hasn't been whacked. It seems to me that a lot of the Italian mafia would be willing to do it for free.

(The above is not a statement of fact. It is either opinion or satire. Or both.)

“...an end to all forms of nationalism and ethnocentrism.”
This can only be found IN CHRIST, where God created “one new man out of the two” (Jew and Gentile).
Any offer of this outside of Christ is counterfeit.

“all forms of nationalism and ethnocentrism”
In other words, a One World Government, in which money is siphoned from those who earn it and given to those who diddle around and do nothing for it.

Genesis 12:2: "I will make you into a great nation, and I will bless you; I will make your name great, and you will be a blessing."
God is being nationalistic. Care to take a swipe at that, pontiff?

Says the guy who helps that along by constantly criticizing conservatives and nationalists.
